Lighthearted - How long do you display Birthday Cards?

Usually about a couple of weeks. I save any really special ones, take the plain backs of others to use for notes, shopping lists etc and the fronts go into the recycling bin.

One week, sometimes less

One week precisely. Then mostly into the recycling, but I do keep some family ones forever. The house is full of them, hidden all over the place.

Always displayed for one week, almost to the hour

I keep mine up for 1 week, then sort the special ones from children and grandchildren out to put in my memory box. The rest are either given to a craft group who often use them to make other cards or they go into the recycling bin.

srn63 that’s a rather cynical view. If you are housebound, or lonely, it’s nice to receive something through the post, reminding you that someone has taken the trouble to remember you.

I keep birthday cards up for two or three weeks, four even.
I like to get my moneys worth. 😂

I don't get any cards and I don't send them to anyone, I think they are a complete waste of money and time. I wish everyone I need to a Happy Birthday or whatever in person, I don't need it written down as well. Don't get ne wrong, we have meals out, celebrations at home, children's parties, all our imortant days are celebrated joyfully, but cards? No.

It now costs about £3.15 for a card and £2 to post it so I’d hope recipients keep them up for a week, as I do.
I take cards round to my nearby family, they are opened then left on the table with stacks of junk so I wonder why I bother.
One of my cats will be 13 next week. She will get an appropriate card and it will stay on the kitchen mantlepiece for at least a week, telling her I love her.

About 3 weeks here. They brighten up the lounge and I enjoy seeing them

About a week or a little longer. My DD really makes an effort to choose something appropriate for me and usually a pop up card, which I love. I keep those.

Like Oreo I cut up cards I particularly like for gift tags.

I've always kept cards up for two weeks, and I also keep the ones from the grandchildren. If we went on holiday for my birthday, I took my cards with me and displayed them in the apartment!

I've also kept my birthday, Christmas and anniversary cards from late DH, so when I celebrated my 70th last year, my first birthday without him since I was in High school, 😥, I had a nice ' Wife' card to put on display along with Mum, Gran, Sister, Auntie. It felt right to me, I did the same at Christmas and Valentine's ( our Anniversary).

A week to ten days is about it in cornerland. Cards from children - up to age 18 - are stashed in a box along with those for ‘special’ birthdays. Enjoy those celebrations franbern.

DH’s. Birthday was ten days after mine, so mine were replaced by his.

I leave all the cards up for about a week. Then I keep the ones from the nearest and dearest for about another week.

Mine stay up for a month, after which it's my OH's birthday so he gets the space on the mantelpiece

I usually receive five birthday cards and an e-card. My 70th was last week and I’ll keep them on display until the end of next weekend.

To the friends & family who go to the trouble & expense of buy a card & stamp, I think it’s a bit miserable of folk to bin after only one day. Unless you genuinely have no room to display them.

I only put the 2 from girls on the window sill in my living room for a few days, if there any others I don’t bother they go in the recycling after a few days but I keep the other 2 in a box.Most birthday greetings are Watsapp messages from from GC and there family’s.

A week and they often are displayed with my Mothers Day cards.
My neighbour seems to keep hers up for a month.
