Are You Finding the Hot Weather is Making you Short Tempered?

I’m not shirtier I don’t think, but I’m certainly short on patience because I’m looking for a new fridge with some exact specifications and the search facilities on the internet are letting me down by showing me options that don’t fit the space. I’ve wasted ages this morning. Grrr.

I remember "76" , I was in the RAF at the time at High Wycombe , and doing cycle racing as well , dehydration also effected me as well .
One could side of things , we had a section social one evening ,and we went on the Thames from Windsor to Runnymede and back its was cool on the boat due to the heat , we had a Fish & Chip supper on the boat ,and on the return leg a officer strip down swimming trunks and swam in the river , otherwise a hot balmy July.

Regarding literacy skills, it’s really rude to draw attention to any posters who make errors.

I once posted here under a previous name, at the time I was going through a breakdown
I came on to try and get some normality back in my life.
I made some spelling mistakes and didn't punctuate correctly, the pedants were on it immediately, I was ridiculed.

The hurt and damage stayed with me for a long time.

I thought it was common knowledge on this site now that nobody was to correct anybody’s spelling….🤷‍♀️(it’s very rude)
I had it done to me a couple of years ago by somebody l don’t see on the site now and I was really put out by it and I told her so as well….😬

Yes the main perpetrator I encountered is no longer on the site, her cronies are though😉.

I am sorry you felt that way. The fact is none of us know other members lived experiences and therefore is best not to make comments that could hit a nerve and make someone feel worse than they already do.
I often make typos because of predictive text and the fact I can’t be bothered to remove it.
Doesn’t bother me if others make spelling mistakes etc., so what? This is a forum for people to pass the time of day on, not a literacy class.

Not at all. Peaceful really. You don’t have to go out or do a thing…and our living room is cool.

I am getting a bit shirty - as my old mum would put it - due to less sleep and the general discomfort of living in London during a heatwave. Would really like to decentralise the weather system and share the extreme temps with other UK cities. We always seem to get the worst temps. And that was a rant because I am fed up now and am going to put my feet in a bucket of cold water.

Full that bucket up! Have a lolly and nice long cold drink!

It’s pretty hot in Essex too today! Though we had a huge thunderstorm and torrents of rain during the night.

My spelling and literacy are caused by a number of things.
Fortunately there are some words I can spell loud and clear, that nobody would have trouble understanding.

Yes, but it's not helped by the fact that I fell downstairs last week and I've damaged ligaments in my foot (as well as bruises here, there and everywhere), so I'm hobbling around with a special boot thingy on. That doesn't make it easy to get out into the garden either, as we have a flight of stone steps leading down from the house to the garden (the ones I fell down). So I'm sore and grumpy!

I agree, as the Queen of errors/typos/brain faster than finger/fat fingers on tiny phone keyboard.

It just doesn’t matter!!! The world won’t stop turning nor will the sky fall in.

I get very annoyed, however, at poor spelling/grammar and lack of editing or proofreading of professional reports/news articles etc etc These people are being paid and there’s no excuse!

One of the few advantages of being dyslexic is that I simply don't notice errors.

I get jealous when I read of older people, being involved in so many activities and I’m just lazying around 😂

Often a spelling mistake is more a quick typing error. Or fat finger. Or not so good vision. The only one that drives me almost to drink is ".could of" instead of "could have" etc.
But to be honest in too hot or too cokd weather I don't really care that much.

Today and this week, I would love it if the enforced hiding from the heat allowed me to do more indoors. But it's too hot. And would be a bit silly healthwise. Lets all try and steer clear of A&E by being sensible.

I can roll my eyes reading about GNs doing things outdoors in hot weathee when all that can wait for cooler weather.

I raise an eyebrow when I spot a spelling mistake , too lazy to do anything else
