Happy birthday to Mr MD 🎂🍺
Govt announces Ukrainian style scheme to bring thousands more migrants to UK
If you had the chance to be the Roosevelt of our time what jobs would you provide?

Happy birthday to Mr MD 🎂🍺
Morning from a slightly fresher S Hants, MrJ turned the bedroom fan down overnight as he was chilly!
Hospital appointment yesterday, we have agreed 6 monthly injections for my osteoporosis, to be done at my GP’s. I need some dental work done before they start.
BBQ tonight, just the two of us before the England game.
Enjoy your Saturday all.
🦩🦩
Good morning everyone from a very beeezy Anglesey. We had a good journey down yesterday with just a few slow bits on the A55.
I like the sound of your weekend, Karma. I haven't done much sewing, but a knitting or crochet weekend would be up my street.
Lovely picture, Hollysteers. I've changed statin from Atarvostatin to Rosuvastatin as the former started to give me terrible leg cramps after a couple of years.
I wanted to just stop taking them but my GP was very insistent that I try a different one. So far, 6 weeks on, I've been ok. I hope you manage to find a solution because cramp is horrible.
Hope everyone enjoys the cooler weather. Take care. 🌻
Good morning fro Stockport 23 degrees and a forecast of 28 later.
Yesterday the heat made me feel ill.
I couldn’t cope and I was tearful. I felt so useless just sitting in a darkened room with a fan and endless water.
It is two weeks to my 89th birthday and If the summers are going to be like this in future I really don’t want to be here for however few I have left.
Another similar day today then hopefully it will turn cooler.
Stay hydrated and in the shade everyone.
Good morning all from a very sticky North Leicestershire.
DD2 and her 2 oldest friends are off to see Take That too. They haven't missed a tour since TT began - luckily we aren't involved in doing lifts any more.
Today, i am going to a Concert (with tea and cake) to remember my lovely friend who died a year ago. Her sister runs local choirs so is putting on a Concert in her memory and to raise money for AgeUk's Dementia Service for whom her sister worked and I volunteer.
Good morning all.
Yesterday was very warm, even here by the sea. The breeze was hot and as you walked out of the house, it hit you like a sauna.
Last night we had thunder, lightning and rain, so I sat up at 3.30 , watching it over the sea. Very dramatic!
It’s still rumbling around now.
Feels cooler though.🙏.
Today I’ll have a clean up and leave the place pristine for DD who is coming next weekend with her friend , DGD and friends child.
Dgd1 has requested a visit with a couple of friends too.
Everyone wants one last time at the ‘ sea side house’. 😢.
GG enjoy the concert. Does Robbie ever appear?
Lovely painting Hollysteers 🧑🎨.
Take care all 🌺
GrannyGravy13 I’ve just googled Gary Barlow singing a million love songs to the bride at her wedding. ❤️❤️
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 17°C.
It is DH's birthday today, but both of us are feeling pretty rotten, consequently we are having a quiet day.
Normally, we would have takeaway, but he doesn't fancy that, in fact he doesn't want to do anything.😪
DD and SIL are walking down from the village and Babydoll and family should appear later, so I need to get a move on.
I will need to keep an eye on the rain, in case they need picked up. The plan is to catch the train at ours and have a day out on the Southside, hence the walk.
DIL. is behaving oddly, her bowel ops, have severely impacted onher emotional wellbeing. We probably won't see Dollie.😪
Wishing you all a pleasant day.
Enjoy Take That tonight GG. My DS is going too.
We went to their final concert before the break-up in Rotterdam then the following day watched their farewell trip on a boat down the Amstel in Amsterdam.
Good morning from a very warm start to the day here on the east coast of Fife I’ve had my bedroom fan on all night. GrannyGravy13 you lucky thing I love Gary Barlow you’ll enjoy the take that show I remember seeing a video of a wedding taking place and the groom had hired Gary Barlow to sing the brides favourite song. It all gave me a tear in my eyes.,it was so very exciting for the bride and all the wedding guests
Have a good day my friends you know who you are - keep safe
Good morning from the NE where it is sunny but a pleasant temperature at present.
Had a lovely meet up with my friend, lunch was sandwiches with a side salad, way too hot for a cooked meal. We then had ice cream for afters.
Friend's DH is a glass artist and was working at the glass centre, I guess it is always hot when glass blowing so the weather was immaterial.
No visitors this weekend so I can just relax, hopefully, as I am in a lot of pain.
Have a good day.
Good morning from the Essex coast.
It's slightly cooler this morning and no sun yet.
We had tremendous thunderstorms during the night, not conducive to a good night's sleep.
No plans today so will take it as it comes.
Have a good weekend, best wishes to all xx
Good morning from Suffolk where yesterday, although not in our part of the county,we had the accolade of being the hottest place in the country. After thunder and rain in the night it feels slightly cooler but still in the high 20s already.
It was DGD2’s prom at school in Bristol last night nd the end of her schooldays. Lovely photos of her in her finery.
Given the heat another quiet day at home with our usual Waitrose delivery late afternoon. Hopefully as the weather cools we can return to our usual activities next week.
Hope today is a peaceful one for all.
Lovely painting hollysteers.
Good morning from the east coast. We are lucky it’s much cooler for us with the sea breeze.
Today we have no one needing us so we are staying in the garden. We have a few garden jobs to do including taking all the yellow iris reeds out of the 2 little water features we have and splitting them. They have completely taken over and soak all the water up so there is no room for the frogs. I will have a nap this afternoon or I’ll never stay up to watch the England match tonight with it kicking off at ten pm.
Enjoy your day staying cool if you can 😎🌼
Good morning from a duller northwest coast. Fridges were down in my local Aldi yesterday, so I was foiled in my bid to buy yoghurt and quiche. Made do with a prawn salad.
After my rather dramatic and regular severe cramps, a chat with the doc now means a two week break from my statin medication to see if that helps and probably a change of statins as I’d like to continue to take them.
Tonight to the local choral society in town and a cooler day here.
Cloud/sea acrylic painted yesterday and thoughts to all🌺
Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. Yesterday’s heat meant after a very early trip to Sainsburys I spent the rest of the day sitting around with endless cups of tea. Terrific thunderstorm at 3.30 this morning so a bit sleep deprived
Quick trip out today and then much of the same
Best wishes
Good morning everyone from mid Essex. After a night of lightning, thunder and showers, the sun is trying to shine again. I couldn’t decide whether to try to sleep upstairs (31 degrees) or downstairs (29) but opted for my bed upstairs. Didn’t sleep too badly considering the heat.
Another hot day is forecast so another day of doing very little. One or other of my DDs may call in, but they’re always busy at weekends, but some of the activities are weather dependent so plans may change,
Thoughts as ever are with those who are unwell or who are struggling at the moment.
Safe and trouble free journeys to those who are travelling today.
Have as good a day as is possible everyone.
Good morning all from the Black country where it is a little cooler.
Shall take a trip to M&S outlet today would like some more Tshirts and I want another pair of cotton pjs.
Friends should be coming later and we will take a walk over to the club.
Have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans, thoughts with missing posters and virtual hugs where needed.
Stay cool😎🍦.
Good Morning all from a very pleasant, cooler central south coast. There was even a little rain in the night. Much easier to cope with physical issues in this temperature!
Today I must cut DH's hair. It will be 8 weeks on Monday since his last shearing and it is now well overdue for another.
He has got his cycling kit in the washer already and there is another pile of the usual other items., to follow.
Our Tesco delivery yesterday was somewhat depleted as their fridges had failed due to the heat and we had 15 unavailable fridge items. I messaged DGS, who was coming for lunch and he brought some milk. We can manage without the other missing items. The local hospital had the same problems with their coolers and lots of operations, treatments and appointments had to be cancelled as a result. I do wonder if the fridges etc in very hot countries fail in the heat or use a different cooling system to ours?
Take care everyone and may those still in the red heat zone find some coolth today.
Good morning everyone from another bright and sunny 🌞 day in Northampton. Temperatures forecast to be slightly lower today and then almost back to normal tomorrow.
Did very little again yesterday apart from read; housework has fallen by the wayside this week apart from the absolute basics. A neighbour invited herself for coffee, but it turned out she had forgotten a chiropodist visit so it was a very short get-together!
Out to the podiatrist this morning, then shall hop on the bus to the shops; at least they will be cool, and I shall also pop into Costa for coffee and a bacon roll.
No other plans for the day apart from adorning my toenails with polish once they have been dealt with.
Wishing all a pleasant day.
Good morning from an overcast and muggy corner off S E Essex it’s currently 21° which is relatively cool considering that it was 33.5° when we went out to dinner last night.
I am fizzing with excitement this morning, I am off to the London Stadium with my lovely daughter-in-law to see Take That, courtesy of DS3. He has spoilt us with ^Hospitality Tickets and excellent seats. Hopefully all air conditioned as the temperature is due to be 30° at the beginning of the evening going on to 26° at the finish.
We have seen all their shows since their reunion concert at Milton Keynes Bowl 2006.
Enjoy your Saturday 🙋♀️
Good morning from a warming up again N Surrey.
Marzipan your posts make me feel cooler.
Another very hot day again. Roll on Sunday.
Sympathies to all those or family of those who have to be doing something in this heat.
Good morning everyone from Inverness, after a day of rain yesterday we’ve light grey clouds and a forecast high of 23°. Hoping the extreme heat further south eases a bit soon
It was good to get back to the gym and usual routine yesterday, although I’m a bit achey this morning. I had a good catch up with my gym friends, they’re such a lovely group of ladies. Today I need to do a food shop, finish the holiday washing and then get out into the garden this afternoon
Safe travels ginny and everyone on the move today
Yes grammaretto you’re right about the ship and departure port, I’d definitely recommend it 👍
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning from muggy Leicestershire.
Just got back from dog walking and it doesn’t feel much cooler.
Nothing planned for today may pop to the butcher and charge the car.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
