Good morning all from a still muggy North Leicestershire.

It's our village street fair today. My choir is singing but not till 3om. In the meantime we have got to feed DGS4 &5 and DGD3 as their parents are going out for lunch. We also have the possibility of a decorator calling to give us a quote to paint the outside.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkahire where it is 18 degrees with loose cloud. I had hoped we might have had some rain but it seems not😩. DD and the menfolk arrived after their holiday looking relaxed and happy. I cooked a roast dinner (yes, I know - lunatic) and it was very well received. They ate some excellent local food while away but my SiL said nothing beats a roast dinner. We followed it up with homemade strawberry flan, eaten outside in my breezy garden. GS cut the lawn for me, saving me a job today.

I’m not sure how my day will pan out. I don’t have anything particularly pressing apart from keeping all my plants from dying of thirst. I save every drop of water I can, but if we don’t get rain soon I shall have to take start taking water from the outside tap.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Sympathies UTTB. It's a shock and sad to lose friends.

People do change and, as long as you were friendly towards her, there is no need for guilt.

Good morning from a sunny cooler W Kent although we are expected to get to 25 degrees. Another quiet day today will cook at some point and a pile of ironing looking at me
Best wishes all round

Good morning from a cool Bodmin. We are now settled into a small cosy cottage on the edge of the moor after a very easy journey.
Our plan for today is a visit to Trebarwith, taking a small picnic for lunch and then to Port Isaac for a walk. I hope to do some sketching too. We’ll find somewhere to have a meal later . Of course we may switch that around if we see a pub/ restaurant we like the look of.
I hope there is some lowering of the temperatures today for you all and wishing everyone a pleasant day with a smile along the way.

Good morning from a cooler N Surrey.

I have been in the garden since 4.30 with a mug of tea and had a clip of a wisteria climbing over from next door. It started as a couple of tentative shoots peeping over and now is a complete jungle hanging ovee the wall. Likewise a virginia creeper. I love them both but the creeper is going mad as well and is overhanging and almost smothering my garden bench.

When I was young 33 and we moved in here, I used to laugh at the previous neighbour gardening at 6 in the morning. She would laugh at me now. I love being out there as it gets light.

This cooler week will be refreshing before the next heatwave from 6 July.

Good morning from a cooler Stockport, 19 degrees with a high of 21 forecast.
It was hotter yesterday than expected so I still felt unwell but we had young visitors so put on a decent face.

A huge shock first thing when I picked up a recorded message on the house phone to say a friend of 55 years had died.
She had been very unwell for a couple of years but it was still a shock.
I have very mixed feelings, and lots of guilt because over the years I came to change my feelings towards her, she became obsessed with her “perfect family” and they became her only topic of conversation, I was not alone in this, she lost friends and was unpopular in the McCarthy and Stone development where she lived.
It was sad because she just couldn’t see it.
It is still the end of something for me though.

I hope we all have a better day heatwise and can do some sadly neglected jobs without wilting but still stay hydrated everyone.

Good morning from the NE Mids. It certainly looks like another hot day today and I really must tackle the ironing so that job is next on the list after my morning cup of tea. Judging by the direction the clouds are moving there’s a westerly wind blowing…….I wonder if it might bring some rain 🤔.
Have a good day one and all!

Good morning from s somerset

I was not expecting another hot day yesterday

Thank goodness for cooler weather and clouds today, Like many, I don`t think I could stand much more of the oppressive heat, I felt off colour by yesterday afternoon.

No housework today, I am in recovery mode and need to get out for some exercise and that might well be on my bike and to the allotment. I cannot be doing with sitting for another day

I have fresh greens to pick and potatoes to unearth. Strangely I could not stomach the sweet potatoes in my fridge so they went into compost. I think I am going to put more salt on my food too

First I must try to reduce the heat held in my house, it went down a couple of degrees last night with the loft hatch open

Just checked the football activity from last night.

Scotland are OUT of the World Cup apparently and the Tartan Army are heading home after they lost to Croatia whilst England won 2-0 against Panama so are through to the next round 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Thank you grandMattie I shall! I’ve just made myself TiB.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where the torrential rain (goody) woke me up just before 5am. However I’ve slept really well. Must check how England fared last night in a bit.

I’m seeing my local little family at some point before I fly off to Málaga tomorrow afternoon. I’m not eating with them so will decide later whether to pop into my larder for some lame and new potatoes or whether to go on my own to what was ‘our’ favourite curry house over the road and dine alone there.

Ooh it’s so much fresher sitting drinking my tea near my open bedroom window! I shan’t be sorry to see the back of all this humidity.

RosesandLilac Sun 28-Jun-26 05:25:38

Good morning, it’s damp and cloudy here in south Glos and
I am looking out of my bedroom window at grey clouds approaching from the southwest so hopefully more rain 🤞🏻
I watered my pots last night but more rain will be very nice.
I had a good go at getting the housework done yesterday, but the heat is affecting my breathing so I will continue today.
I did give bigger dog a good grooming, getting hand fulls of fluffy undercoat out. It’s ridiculous how fluffy her undercoat is 🫣
Tiddler had a bath and then sulked in the most dramatic fashion, giving me the side eye for the rest of the afternoon. She makes me laugh, she’s such a funny little dog.
Wandering around watering my pots yesterday evening I clearly need to get the lovely gardening man in to attack the jungle. My garden is lush but everything is growing out of control! No bad thing but I’m somewhat aghast 😁
Best wishes to all x

You’re early fgt. Enjoy the lovely cool and peace of early morning.

Good morning from a cooler, overcast Bristol. Although the night started very warm, it is appreciably cooler atm.
Like Mick, our local Tesco is denuded of cold/frozen items, this was because the fridges and freezers broke down due to overheating, although our Tesco petrol station and little shop was ram raided and much of the visible stock stolen.
There were 16 people at the coffee morning including one lady who had to be escorted to her car and a/c as she was starting to feel unwell. I have to confess feeling unwell too, walking home from church at midday.
I rested for most of the afternoon, and did some skirt assembly as well.
Today, I had a surprise invitation to lunch at DD’s. An even more surprising self invitation by DS for a “proper” breakfast after I go to early church (his sister and family are vegetarian).
I’m hoping the heat dome has moved/disappeared from today.
Keep safe, keep cool, be sensible in the sun but enjoy the weather. Hugs to the missing posters and to the poorly.
🐦‍🔥 Carpe diem 🦩🦩❤️🦩🦩🌹

I think Mick that’s it’s because the fridges/freezeers in some supermarkets haven’t been able to cope with the extreme heat. One of my daughters was expecting her usual Tesco delivery for Friday evening and she received notification from them that it had been cancelled due to this reason so I expect the same happened near you.

Good Morning Everyone,
Its light and the start of another warm day here in Brackley no sign of thunderstorms either just hot unfordable weather .
Yesterday , did the usual , supermarket wise many areas such as frozen food and ice cream blocked off , plus shutters down in other ares , people panic buying?
Health the current climate is effecting me .
Take Care,
Mick
