What time do you get up the morning. I usually get up around 8.00 but it can be a movable feast. My DH is strictly regimental about it and always gets up at 6.30. If he leaves it till 6.45 he has got up ‘late’ and has wasted the day.

Waking up around 4am is the time to get up, seize the day and get stuck in before the 'enthusiasm' (ha!) for the necessary housework begins to wane.

It is not the time for a cosy cup of tea in bed and a full English breakfast - also in bed - that my former partner fully expected.

Lazy arse. Note that his status is now "former".

I’ll scroll for another 15 mins and then to sleep, I shall go 😂

NotSpaghetti Mon 29-Jun-26 01:05:52

Ha ha.
I couldn't do it at 7am!

Impressed with brain use there 😉

I will not tolerate a regimental awakening of an alarm did it all my life until retirement. However if there is a family thing to do or an appointment for some reason that's different.
I go to bed late and I don't sleep very well I usually get up at around 7ish. I can not sleep in as my DH has a rigid routine that wakes me. I get up make a mug of tea prepare the dogs breakfast. I dress and decide activities for the day and prep food for meals etc. Come to think of it that sounds rather routine!

Unless going to an airport I don’t use the alarm. Generally awake about 8. Enjoy watching the news in bed with a coffee, watching my young neighbours running for the train like I used to do.

NotSpaghetti Mon 29-Jun-26 00:18:57

Me too. But also doing a puzzle.

Wyllow3 Mon 29-Jun-26 00:11:15

Night owls at work still posting 😉

Joanofarc99 Mon 29-Jun-26 00:06:56

Around 9...that's only because I've set my alarm for that time. If I don't set it I'd naturally sleep til1 10.

Wyllow3 Mon 29-Jun-26 00:05:42

Owl.
I hate having to set an alarm.
I'm also one who loves to pop in online to greet the day.

It can be addictive...

If it is very hot Im up and out with the dog at 7 but come winter its very different ,let the dog out for a wee then back to bed with tea and my kindle until 9 or 10. retirement gives you the joy of being able to do what you want.

Grammaretto Sun 28-Jun-26 17:11:02

Alarm set 7.30 apart from Sunday.
I'm usually awake before the alarm.
I have something on every day so there'll be somewhere I have to be.
I don't like rushing and hate being late.

I’m an owl, so no getting up early for me. Had enough of that over the years. School, college, work, kids and more work! Wake up before 7 usually, then coffee, more coffee and iPad and book until whenever ….Bliss!

Fallingstar Sun 28-Jun-26 13:24:07

We get up 7.30/8.00 can’t lie in to save my life and if I do fall asleep again I wake up feeling discombobulated.

Norah Sun 28-Jun-26 13:09:16

We wake between 5 and 6, out of bed, dress, walk dog.

As early as possible in hot weather.

Erica23 Sun 28-Jun-26 12:55:12

Lark here. Asleep at 9.30 awake around 4.30 always try and go back to sleep but it never works so up at 5, It’s very annoying especially in winter.

NotAGran55 Sun 28-Jun-26 12:16:16

I have never used an alarm since I was a teenager, as I’m awake between 5 and 6 every day, all year round, and occasionally earlier.

Magenta8 Sun 28-Jun-26 11:46:47

I am sure I am not alone in having to take my GCs to school.
I am up and running before seven on schooldays and by seven thirty at weekends.

Greyduster Sun 28-Jun-26 11:45:44

Unless I have a bad night, when I can wake between two and three and still be awake at six, I’m showered and ready to go by eight thirty. I will have been awake since 5.30 -600 a.m. drinking coffee and eating my ritual two digestive biscuits while scrolling through Gransnet.

Elusivebutterfly Sun 28-Jun-26 11:33:50

I usually wake around 8 to 8.30. If I have had a bad night, it might be 10. Last week was around 7 due to the heat.
Too little sleep is a major migraine trigger.

Dottydots Sun 28-Jun-26 11:14:39

Usually 7.00 am. If I sleep any longer I know I will suffer with a headache.

NotSpaghetti Sun 28-Jun-26 09:38:44

Gosh. So many larks!
I'm an owl.
I might occasionally wake at 6.30 but I'd definitely go back to sleep until 8am.
I have no desire to "leap out of bed". Ever!
grin

Marthjolly1 Sun 28-Jun-26 09:38:12

My alarm is set for 8am when I am usually in a deep sleep having been awake for an hour following my 4.30 call to the loo. It takes me a good half hour to rouse myself then it's a good strong black coffee before stretch, shower, dressed and ready to take on the day.

M0nica Sun 28-Jun-26 09:20:25

As early as possible, usually just after 6.00am. I am a lark, always have been, always will be. The fact that I am not working any more does not change that.
