Up until I was in my late fifties I used to absolutely love watching football and tennis on the television but then suddenly I went right off sport. My friend is a real football fan. He does a lot for me, so when he comes to see me (every day), I let him watch the matches on tv while I read my book.

Oh God. Football and tennis? Nooo. Think I'll hibernate till it's all over. I'll go out and stock up right now.

Ooh I don't know sago 😅 though it looks like there's bubbly at the ready

I'm more of a tennis fan myself.
Scotland are out of the footie as ever
But their fans are still remembered in Boston says my American cousin.
Here's the local tribute in my town in Scotland.

Are you sure, there, Sago?

Didn't even know there was a game last night. What sport?

Jaxjacky Sun 28-Jun-26 10:28:28

Our pub and others locally were packed for the game last night, no warning for that and as far as I know shelves of alcohol in the village were fine. No ice creams though.

Just checked my drinks fridge, as it’s just the two of us I think we should be OK for the game.

Thanks for the tip though😉

Where on earth do you live OP?

I have seen shelves depleted of toilet roll and other household goods but never have I seen empty shelves on the booze isles 🤦‍♀️

England were favourites in their group, no surprise they have gone through…

I am more concerned that there could be a strawberries, cream and champagne shortage due to Wimbledon starting tomorrow 🎾🍓🍾

I will be doing my shopping at midday on Wednesday so I’ll report back! 😂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿⚽️

Or...alternatively...head to your local pub, support them and England at the same time! wine

MissAdventure Sun 28-Jun-26 10:13:40

Alcohol isn't on my shopping list. smile

1st July

England are into the knockout stages of the football world cup and the games kicks off at 5pm.
Make sure you do all your shopping in the morning before the shelves are emptied of alcohol
