RIP Penelope Keith

In a tribute to Penelope Keith, BBC2 showed an episode of The Good Life earlier tonight.

We have watched this lovely series right from the beginning in the 1970s when we were first married, and over the years we must seen the episodes several times but they still make me laugh.

Why haven’t we got talented comedy scriptwriters these days?
Why does what passes for comedy now has to be full of smut ?

Penelope Keith was so good at playing refined ladies. Margot Leadbetter in the Good Life and Audrey Forbes Hamilton in To the Manor Born. 🥀
