Does anyone have this jumpsuit?

Today I am wearing a jump suit I bought in 1964. It is a laura Ashley one and I bought it for a holiday in Los Angeles.

Work and old style summers meant I didn;t wear much thereafter, then I put on 21 lbs during the menopause and couldn't shift it for about 15 years, but I kept it because I liked it so much. I lost the excess weight 10 yeras ago, but somehoe still saw the jump suit as being too small. In our move it stayed with me, the earlier this week I looked at it and thought 'This ridiculous. jump suits are back in fashion. try it on and if it doesn't fit gove it to a charity shop. I tried it on. It fits, so after 40 years lanquishing in a drawer, I am wearing it again.

I think few women over 50 look good in a jumpsuit. You need to be very slim and flat chested to carry it off. A tight fitting jumpsuit looks dreadful on a voluptuous lady.

It’s not a tight fitting jumpsuit. Plus she has nothing to do with it if a lady has got a decent shape a jumpsuit look good . I wore a jumpsuit at age 62 and if I say so myself I looked good in it .

I saw this jumpsuit in an ad for Kit and Kaboodal and am tempted to order it. But it says ‘fits 8-18’, and having never bought anything from them, I wonder what the size would be like. I’m a 12, sometimes 14 in clothes.

I like the jumpsuit, but on my short body it wouldn't look nice.

That can look a bit like pyjamas though

I would like to see more matching tops and trousers which fit well and look like jumpsuits

I have several sewing friends, all over 70 , who have sewn themselves a fabulous jumpsuit and look fantastic. None are tall or slim but whatever their shape they look great.
The pattern for those who sew is the Zadie pattern and it opens easily so noone of a certain age is struggling to get out of it at the loo.
I'm planning to make myself one , in a gloriously bright sardines print fabric.

In terms of who should and who shouldn’t wear anything, as far as I’m concerned, if a person wants to wear whatever they want, at whatever age, sex or height, then I say go for it!

These days us older ladies have lots of choices and I left tailored clothes and suits behind when I left working in the city and have reverted to my early 20’s look of vague hippy chick. I really don’t care what anyone else thinks, my clothes are clean and over me up! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

I would look on vinted. I have a jumpsuit habit and people obviously don’t get on with them as vinted is full of not worn or worn once once’s 😂

Opening it not, the top half has to be pulled right down. Not for me thanks.

The jump suit I have - and will be wearing today is in a stretch fabric, with a loose wrap over top secured with one popper. I can get it off my shoulders and down in no time at all - and back up again.

No, not ideal if you need to go to the loo freuently, but it doesn't cause me any problems.

There must have been someone who is on GN at the theatre yesterday.
We were in a resonably long queue for the ladies in the interval and I heard someone comment “hope no one is wearing a “jumpsuit”.🤣

On a slim woman of any age the pictured one would look great. In charcoal lovely and cool looking.
In a loose size you could wear a short sleeved white tee shirt underneath.
Having a wee would be a pain for me as drinking so much extra in the hot weather I am forevee in the loo,

I could get away with wearing one as I’m slim-ish and medium height but wouldn’t.
Tbh they remind me of an all in one babygro type of thing, and they can’t be as easy to undo for loo visits as a dress, skirt or trousers either.

Storynanny I agree with Primrose 53 and you don’t fit what she says as you’re a size 10-12 so you will look ok.A larger and full busted ( shall we say) woman wouldn’t look good.It’s all about what suits the figure and not jumping on the latest fashion bandwagon.

how rude! I’m 69, 5’2” 10-12 and i’ve got several fitted not oversized jumpsuits. It’s no different to an “ old lady” in cropped trousers and a top.
I need the toilet multiple times a day ( and night) and they are quick to unbutton and pull down.
My daughters and granddaughters would tell me if they looked silly on me
Long live the ease of wearing an all in one, no matching top to bottom

Agree. Same with leggings and dresses above the knee.
