Good morning everyone and happy White Rabbits Day from another bright and sunny 🌞 day in Northampton.

Had a lovely time at our Market Harborough lunch yesterday - it was good to put faces to names and meet new friends. Well worth the bus journey from Northampton! Hope we can do it again.
I even managed a bit of shopping and bought a lovely new top in White Stuff.

Have a load in the washing machine and even think I might manage some ironing today.... I have had a dress and top waiting for the iron from my Spanish holiday in March.....

No other plans for today, except I think I might have to tackle the rampant vine on my pergola.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Good morning all from a sunny Black country but looking at the puddles on the garage roof looks like we have had rain overnight.
How nice that your DS is getting some jobs done for you grandMattie.
Toddlers this morning we charge £1.50 per family latedecember childminders pay 50p extra per child after the first 2.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I think it will be a little warmer today.

Golly Karma! Well done to your grandson.

Our cleaner came yesterday overlapped by the tree man. He cut down our ceanothus in under half an hour. He cleared everything away and now we have an empty area.

I popped round to my friend’s. She had made some delicious scones for a group of us. Served with jam and clotted cream, they were delicious. She was slightly perturbed that I put the jam on first.

We are out for lunch today. On our return our gardener should be coming. We will get some advice on the newly cleared area and what to do with it.

England play DR Congo tonight. OH will watch but I’ll find something else to do. Too nerve-racking.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a fresh and sunny N Surrey. Awake from v early I opened the front door and wedged open, but still on the chain, so the 6 or so inches of gap let enough cool air in to freshen upstairs. Patio doors in the kitchen and dining room now wide open.

Little robin on the back steps eating some dried worms quickly before the damn pigeon scoffs the lot.

General pottering today. No early trip to Waitrose as DH has a tel call from the GP sometime from 8.30 to 10.30. At least that is better than the first texted appointment from 8 till 1.00. As the week goes on the time span reduces.

DSIL popped in yesterday to do 3 jobs which I was unable to do. Such a difference he has made. And a nice chat. He and DD married last year. It does seem strange still to think of him as a SIL...and me as a MIL!
Enjoy your day as much as poss everyone. Best wishes to those with worries or just feeling down.

Good morning from a bright and sunny corner of S E Essex it’s meant to reach 26°. I need to read the pamphlet for my antibiotics to see if they react to the sun. If they do not I will read my kindle in the garden today.

I will see how I feel in an hour and my change the bedding.

Thinking of those in the quiet corner, especially Bellasnana 🙋‍♀️

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

We had a lovely meet-up yesterday in Market Harborough. It’s so nice to meet people in person. Hopefully we can do it again soon.

Today we are down the M1 again to swap doggy over at Toddington services. I will be relieved to not have to deal with him in the heat this weekend.

Pleased to see things are finally speeding up for you Rosesandlilac.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning everybody from Málaga where the sun’s just up. We are an hour ahead here which is the reason why I seem to post earlier!

Today’s plans are a grocery shop as the fridge is bare except for a carton of milk, a bottle of water and a bottle of rosé wine!

Later I think I will take my Kindle into the gsrdens perhaps wearing one of my new swimming costumes in case I decide to have a dip in the pool.

This development used (22 years ago when we bought) to be 70% British 30% Spanish but now it’s a mix of Spanish, Belgians, French and Scandis as well as the British so there’s less of ‘us’ now. I like it better - I have so many friendly neighbours although any meaningful communication can be challenging. Oh well, a smile or a wave always makes a person happy - me included!

I’m having dinner at 8pm downstairs in Juan’s with the lovely Glaswegian couple who hold our spare key. Always a pleasure!

Hope all the grans who met up yesterday in the Market Harborough area (?) had a lovely time. I think it must be lovely to put faces to names. Shame it wouldn’t be sensible to have our profile pics on here.

Good morning from Sheffield

Another awful night sleep , 3 o’clock on the dot wide awake again.
I’m thinking of getting some of that dissolvable magnesium . Healthy Metal it’s called. Has anybody had any experience of taking it?

I have a full day working ahead. I have the option not to but what do I do , just sit here all day ? I think better to face the day on and work through it.

My eldest DS is going away for a fortnight so I have the two little sausages to look after it. Will sort out my dog fix . They’re sweet little dogs but that very breed does bark a lot. Nobody is breaking in this fortnight!

Take care everyoneflowers

Good morning from s somerset.

I enjoyed my exercise walk yesterday, it only takes 30 minutes but I walk quite fast when I set out with the exercise in mind, I got up the hill without puffing too much. I was dreading it after the enforced idleness last week

That set me up for the day and I did some sewing and pottering, getting a good result by using bar keepers friend on stained white plastic

I miss my air fryer, I chucked my small Tower out as it was on the dangerous list. I have decided to get another but am deciding between a small ninja or a sage air fryer/grill. I need to work out where I would store the latter if I get that.

Today I will finish sewing my coat and am quite likely to cycle to my allotment, taking the longer route. My sewing pins are a mess, I will sort them later today

DGS (18) saved a womans life yesterday. She was drowning and he jumped in and pulled her out. Proud nan here

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Anglesey. July already! 🐇

Yesterday we were allowed to join Amlwch libray as guests so chose some books.
There's a toddler group that runs on Tuesday mornings. We were too late for yesterday's session, but may try to go next week. The lady in charge was very friendly. I was amazed when she said it was free. The church toddler group we go to at home is £2 which I think is a real bargain. We sometimes go to a play cafe which is £11 so that has to be an occasional treat.

No set plans for today. We might have a drive to Benllech and kick a ball about on the beach.

Hope everyone has the best day possible. Take care. 🌻

My? Morning!

RosesandLilac Wed 01-Jul-26 05:54:05

Good my, it’s still a little damp here but the sun’s shining in south Glos; yesterday afternoon’s showers were very welcome.
I did more yanking out of rampaging crocosmia yesterday morning, two small butt crammed borders are looking much better. I’m very pleased with my efforts! The poor roses struggling to grow will hopefully perk up now.
We had a lovely lunch at my sister in law’s, it was nice to catch up.
As we got home I had a call from the hospital to see the thoracic surgeon- can you believe it it was the same time as my sigmoidoscopy tomorrow 😬
I’m slightly surprised that everything is now happening at a rapid pace but relieved of course!
Anyway, a text and email later has given me an appointment next Thursday. If that’s the pre-op then my surgery could be sooner than I was told.
Today is housework etc, I slept badly so no gardening unless the mood grabs me in the next hour or so! I love being outside really early.
Take care everyone x

White rabbits 🐇🐇🐇
A new month! May we not be boiled alive as in June.
Yesterday turned out quite unexpected. I baked very early, made brownies, a traybake and some biscuits.
I was planning on spending the rest of the day quietly, when I noticed two missed calls from DS. I have my phone on silent at night and forget to turn it on again. Anyway, he wanted to come over to move a pot plant into the bed and plant my hydrangea paniculata into the now empty pot.
This was suddenly complicated by the painters deciding to paint the panelling under the little canopy protecting our front doors. I had already had to bother them when taking my washing to the line.
He came and, bless them, the painters did ”my” bit so we could go in and out before carrying on with the rest. We successfully did the transfers. I hope the planting out survives.
After lunch, he then decided to go to a big B&Q at the mall to get me the necessary strip for under my shower screen. Success! We changed the torn, mouldy strip. A successful day.
He went back to DD’s to prepare for his trip to Scotland. He’s meeting some ex colleagues in Edinburgh, the going off walking with one of them. He’ll be away for a fortnight.
I’ve got the ukulele band this morning and the attendant crowd to serve. I shall be very tired by the end of the morning, at least it isn’t burning hot 🥵.. My faithful band of helpers are wonderful but they are all at least 10 years younger than me.
Stay safe. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
