X posts Bellasnana!
Lovely to have you back here!

Good morning from a cooler and dull northwest coast.
Saw the doc yesterday and he made out a prescription for another type of statin, which hopefully won’t cause the severe cramps I’ve been putting up with.

My electric garage door has conked out and is stuck halfway open. I’ll have to decide who to call to fix it. The usual lunchtime recital and opera co rehearsal tonight.
My sister recommended ‘Amandaland’ on TV for a bit of light relief and I’m enjoying it.

White rabbits and birthday greetings Bellasnana.💐

Gelisa Wed 01-Jul-26 08:30:44

Good morning all from a cloudy Morecambe Bay.
I’m tired this morning after working yesterday and heading to Manchester, so a lazy day is planned. DS1 had been off shift and had prepared a lovely meal for us which we ate outside on his lovely new patio. He spent last summer completely revamping his garden. It’s very simple now but looks stunning. Much less gardening for him. He’s not his mother’s son! Unfortunately DGD came in from work feeling unwell and she took herself off to bed. I went up to have a chat with her and at least raised a smile when I promised to fatten her bank account on her birthday next week. She is off to Spain with a group of friends. Again, not my idea of fun but I’m not eighteen!
Bellasnana have a lovely birthday and come back soon.
I’ll post a pic of the rose I battled with yesterday. At least I’ve managed to tie it up even if it’s not trained properly! It has shoots crossing and all sorts wrong but she didn’t want to lose the flowers so I’ll prune and train it properly at the end of the season.
Take care 🌸

Puzzling as to why your GP practice refuse to put paracetamol on repeat Ashcombe? Perhaps have a word. Himself need 8 a day continuously for 2 years (as well as morphine etc) and on repeat as per hospital instructions - not a problem.

A nice surprise there Astitchintime for you with that potato yield! Small pleasures 😁

Oh crikey Marydoll when your husband decides to go off piste he does make a situation stressful doesn’t he? You do make me laugh - it’s the telling of it!

Bellasnana please come back! If only on this thread. We’re all missing your tales from Malta! x

Bellasnana Wed 01-Jul-26 08:26:54

Good morning from Malta where it’s sunny and 34°C.

I was summoned to look after the boys early as DD3 has to go into school and DGS2 is poorly, been sick several times and has a fever. Poor little chap.😞

Many thanks for the birthday wishes. I can’t quite believe I’ve reached my ‘three score years and ten’ quite as rapidly as I have but I’m very grateful to be still here. My sister would have been turning 74 tomorrow but she’s been gone 20 years and never met her grandchildren, so I count my blessings.

I’m quite embarrassed by recent events but before I put the lid on it I must say a heartfelt thank you to the kind ladies who sent messages on here and in private. It has been a humbling experience to have so many of you reaching out and lifting me up when I was feeling so down.

Out of a negative experience came nothing but positivity as I’ve ‘met’ so many lovely GN members, many of whose names I wasn’t familiar with, and many who don’t post, so I feel I’ve made new friends.

I’m glad you are at last getting medical attention, RosesandLilac. You’ve been so stoical waiting and wondering 💐

My best wishes to all and a huge thank you again for your kindness.🤗

HelterSkelter1 Wed 01-Jul-26 08:23:18

Happy Birthday Bellasnana. Let us know what you are doing today.

HelterSkelter1 Wed 01-Jul-26 08:22:33

Karmalady was the rescue in a pool, river or sea. Any of which would be amazing. Is he a trainee life guard as a young friend of our is? Or just a passerby?

You must be so proud

monk08 Wed 01-Jul-26 08:13:08

Happy birthday Bellas 🎂🍾🎉 hope you are enjoying the tennis.

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Went off to get my hair cut yesterday only to find the shop had gone from Bluewater shopping centre. Have now booked with local hairdressers who I hope to settle with. DH and I then visited our favourite local garden, a garden centre and two charity shops, we were somewhat tired.
Today a cup of tea with a friend
Amazing grandson Karma
Glad it’s all going in the right direction R&L
Best wishes

Good morning Micheal and all GN's from a slightly breezy North Yorkshire. It is hard to know how the weather is going to be today as keeps going from sun then grey and breeze and looking as if it might rain but doesnt.

I must go out for some basic shopping and want to get out before it gets too hot, but am creaking around and very slow. Frustrating. It will be the yellow peril today as it is market day, so no doubt will have to have sunglasses and take mac as well. Have no inspiration so hope I will see things on the stalls that give me ideas. While we have been having this heatwave I have not been stopping at the cafe or anything, just getting what is necessary and then home.

Yesterday was a bad day with my back, so only had a very short walk in the garden. I want to build up my walking again and get going, but while the weather is so hot not able to do much. So my best efforts were getting rid of quite a lot of paperwork , which seems to build up quickly. My main tv is being a total pain and I reluctantly accept that I need to replace it. The picture was darkening and disappearing from the bottom of the screen, so that I had to go into the bedroom to see anything on the little one. It is not just the cost (I definitely dont want a monster size!) but not in the mood for looking round and checking out. Ah well I shall have to make an effort.

Good to read your posts and hope your day goes well

brook2704 Wed 01-Jul-26 08:05:43

A very well done to your DGS karma, what a wonderful young man

Happy Birthday Bellas! 🎂🥂❤️💐

mamaa Wed 01-Jul-26 08:02:24

Good Morning all, this is early for me so I thought I’d post and so not be the last poster squeezing in at literally the last minute, which is what usually seems to happen😉.
Happy special birthday wishes to Bellasnana hope you have a lovely day. 💐

EkwaNimitee Wed 01-Jul-26 07:52:11

Good morning Mick and everyone from greyish Carlisle where it 16°C currently.
I was busy with jobs yesterday, getting rid of my pile of ironing and cleaning bathrooms etc. I'm behind with everything due to visitors, going away myself and hot weather. I'm not going to make myself a martyr over it, I'm actually thinking of going out today having been stuck in the house for a few days.

We had some heavy rain yesterday evening thankfully, no watering of the garden today. I watched the Serena match at Wimbledon. I had been keen to see her win again but was soon won over by the young Australian who made an excellent opponent and finally won. Nothing was certain till the last point.
Hope Bella was watching and enjoyed it. Happy Birthday to you and come back soon!

Gagagran Wed 01-Jul-26 07:48:16

Good Morning everyone from a so-far-still cool central south coast. The temperature is set to rise over the next few days though. Ugh!

I have a blood test at the surgery at 1.23 today. Why the 3? Seems very odd to be so precise! DH will drop me off and pick me up.

Nothing else planned for today as I am still recovering from my horrible fall. I feel as if all my innards were shaken up and still haven't settled properly.

It's DGD3's degree day today so shall think of her at 11am in Durham Cathedral. Hope to get some celebratory photos and am pretty sure I shall!

Take care everyone and hope that all with struggles or worries of any kind have some relief today.

harrigran Wed 01-Jul-26 07:45:55

Happy special birthday Bellasnana, hope you have a lovely day 💐

Liberty Wed 01-Jul-26 07:44:23

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk after a cooler day yesterday with a few spots of rain in the afternoon. I had a glorious day I visiting the gardens of Helmingham Hall which has been in the hands of the Tollemarche family for generations. Lady T,the mother of the present occupants was a Gold medal winner at Chelsea in the past.

The huge walled garden was our favourite part, country garden style, very carefully but quietly tended and swathes of pink, purple and blue. We just sat in one of the arbours in the shade almost mesmerised. I’ll try and post a couple of photos which in no way do the garden justice.

No Keep Fit class today so I’m meeting a couple of friends from the class for lunch by the sea. Hope all have a good day.

harrigran Wed 01-Jul-26 07:40:19

Good morning from a dry NE where it is 15° at present and very comfortable in the bedroom.
Yesterday I sorted some clothes ready for my holiday.
Today my sister and BIL are visiting and picking up my prescription on the way. I am expecting a delivery of medical supplies but don't have a time slot yet.
Well done to your DGS karmalady, very brave.
Have a good day.

dragonfly46 Wed 01-Jul-26 07:39:14

Happy Birthday Bellasnana.

Astitchintime Wed 01-Jul-26 07:36:04

Good morning from a bright and fresh NE Mids. I did get around to lifting the rogue potatoes yesterday afternoon - it was only the one plant - and the yield was quite a surprise……..enough for at least three meals I reckon.
No particular plans for today other than pottering in the garden.
Have a good day one and all!

Ashcombe Wed 01-Jul-26 07:36:04

Good morning from a sunny Torbay but with clouds gathering.

Yesterday we had several showers in the morning but DH, having a day out in Exeter, had none. He was pleased to have acquired a new jacket and several packets of paracetamol for me (my GP practice won’t prescribe it, despite it being recommended by my orthopaedic consultant.) It’s a pain (in every sense!) as only 32 can be bought at once so he wanted to ensure we have enough for our next trip to France where we are further from shops.

Happy special birthday to Bellasnana!

It’s good to hear your appointments are becoming available, RosesandLilac.

You are justifiably proud of your DGD, karmalady.

Happy hump day, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

monk08 Wed 01-Jul-26 07:31:29

Marydoll I know it's not funny for you but your tale of DH did make me laugh it was the way you described him.

brook2704 Wed 01-Jul-26 07:31:25

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s warm with light grey clouds
Good to hear that things are progressing now roses
I’ve an online volunteering session this morning, then I’ll be off to the gym to meet friends for a coffee and then do an aerobics class. Back home for a bit of a rest this afternoon before going to a line dancing this evening
Pleased to hear the meet-up went well, so good to put faces to names!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

ginny Wed 01-Jul-26 07:27:18

Good morning all.
Well done to your DGS Karma
Glad things a moving along for Roses.
Yesterday’s outing to Pencarrow was very pleasant. We had a guided tour of the lovely house and the guide was excellent, interesting and with many humerus anecdotes, we saw a bit less of the gardens than we hoped as was quite a downpour .
Today we plan to visit Fowey, maybe a river boat trip as we didn’t have the one we planned in Padstow. Otherwise we’ll see how we go.
Wishing all a good day.

Marydoll Wed 01-Jul-26 07:23:03

Llft, I too, put the jam on first! 😉

Redcar Wed 01-Jul-26 07:22:04

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, sunny here at the moment but I think showers are forecast, who knows? We were forecast “a few spots of rain” yesterday, and that was all we had!
I went for a walk in the morning, did some ironing, then visited my dementia friend in the afternoon. Yoga this morning and an Ocado delivery this afternoon.

Well done to your DGS karma you must be so proud of him.

grandmattie good that the painters are at last working on the outside of your apartment block and also that your DS has done some work for you. I hope he enjoys his trip to Scotland

rosesandlilac I hope your medical appointments go well, but how typical that they should be scheduled for the same day, after waiting so long for them!

Have the best day possible everyone - how can it be July already?.
