I was just sat , looking out of the window , watching many different butterflies on my buddlei enjoying the slight breeze, whilst doing my sunday job of sorting medication. I have a very battered little strip of boxes for the days of the week. The labels wore off and I have put an initial in black ink to replace them. I have had it for a long time and suddenly thought how useful it has been.
As I live alone there is , of course, no one to say , have you taken your tablets, and as a type 2 diabetic it is quite important to keep things on an even keel. I usually remember that I have done, but can easily check if I am not sure, as it is also important not to take more than I should. These days the tablets sometimes come from different sources from the chemist and I need to be sure I have the right ones at the right time. So the box has saved me worrying over time.
As a widow, there are many things I miss about my husband. Some things get easier in times and other not, but the everyday living things , that you often took for granted , mean you have to change your patterns. Not necessarily a husband but living with anyone else, I think we naturally fall into those habits of " you check the back door , I'll get the bags" routine, and we can make those assumptions that jobs are shared and go out with an easy frame of mind.
I have improved but still know that I check things more. than I used to. and every so often, despite being 90% sure I did lock up or whatever, I need to go back or the worry will be lurking there. So hurray for my little tablet box, doing its job week by week. Do you have something that helps your day to day life?
