Good morning from a cooler corner of La Sarthe following a humdinger of a storm last night!

For the first time in nearly two weeks it was cool enough for us to dine on la terrasse. Before long rumbles of thunder began, developing into quite a violent storm with rain, lightning and an incredibly strong wind which was very dramatic. It drove Perry, the cat, to dive into a shrub to hide. Sadly, this morning we can see that it has brought down a sizeable branch from one of the fruit trees.

I love the orange coloured fabric, Karma.

I hope everyone is keeping well and cool. 🦩💐😎🥰🦩

Good morning from a clear, still Bristol.
I’m late because I took some antihistamine last night to help me sleep. I’ve been sleeping very badly again recently.
Yesterday morning was packed as I made two coffee cakes, a Bakewell tart, brownies and flapjacks, after which I thawed out my little fridge/freezer.
I now understand why I was struggling to pull out the drawers. It was thick with ice. I started to thaw it out, then thought I need a hair dryer. Don’t have one but my upstairs neighbour did the honours. Magic! Now I have a very smart freezer.
Before lunch, I iced the coffee cakes and got all the baking ready for collection by a friend.
We are stopping at the greengrocer first to pick up a box of fruit prepared for a raffle prize at the fete tomorrow. I made one of the coffee cakes for him and his staff as a small thank you. After this, the rest of the baking will be delivered to the church hall kitchen…
The afternoon was physically quiet, except for a string of texts to DD who uncharacteristically invited herself to lunch to help with some financial stuff. I’m cooking some trout; she eats fish although at home she is strictly vegetarian.
The painters have been very slapdash, slopping paint all over the bay windows, without cleaning first, not repairing the rusting metal beams at the base of each. I have reported it. I think that because we don’t have anyone supervising, they just cut every corner possible. So much less trouble! As one resident said, we have a dog but are doing ALL the barking ourselves.
Today,I still have gluten-free cookies to make, change the bed, get ready for DD’s visit and the collection/delivery of baking.
I hope ever is still keeping safe, cool and well.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from south Glos, a beautiful flaming orange sunset yesterday and a pretty pinky orange sunrise this morning. I do love being awake early when it’s cool and the air is fresh.
I spent a couple of hours going through my big cupboard where I keep all my craft stuff, trying to find my sashiko needles that I thought I had. I eventually decided that they were in my imagination 🙄😁
At least the cupboard is tidy now so that’s a bonus!
I’ll set up another embroidery today, I fancy doing something with crewelwork and I have a couple of kits to do.
Best wishes to you all x

Good morning from Sheffield
I’m so early this morning, been awake since 2. Goodness knows why. My mouth was a bit achy after my tooth extraction but paracetamol took it off.
A usual Friday today. Cleaning , working and relaxing in that order.
Hope those poorly have a better day today
Take care everyone flowers

Good morning from s somerset, another very hot day today

Allotment early yesterday and I was not the first there, I brought produce home and potatoes to bag into brown bags, to keep well in my garage

Sewing too, I started a dress toile in the orange fabric and this was in a box I had prepped for last winter. I have only done the neck inset so far, it was a challenge.

The other photo is the second Charlie top, I loved the toile and this is now a go-to pattern

I weighed all the blueberries that I have picked and frozen, this season six plants have given me 8kg, I do use them every day through the year. One bush is old and giving up so I emptied its huge container, a half barrel size, it was tiring and heavy work and my car is very full for the tip.

Today I have a large fridge to empty, sort and clean and I may even dust

Good Moring Everyone,
Its light and dry with a grey looking sky over Brackley , still no sign of rain its been 4 to 6 weeks without any and the ground is parched .
Usual trip into Bicester to do a shop and chat to those i know , and a visit to local chippy for Fish & Chips at lunchtime , before I settle down to watch the Tour De France .
Health OK ,
Take Care,
