I’ll have your summer one .I’ll have 1 of spring, 1 of Autumn, 10 of summer. I’d gladly give all the winter ones away .
Oh if only.
So Harry and family are coming back!
What is your favourite healthy vegetarian meal?
...until September - phew!

Ooh, I love everyone dividing up their calendars as they choose, may I please bag 3 x spring months, 1 x summer, 5 x autumnal and 3 winter ones!
At a push, I'll trade my summer one for another winter if anyone wants it?
I am looking forward to September too. I love that month as the weather is more manageable for me but this year I have another reason.
Yesterday was my youngest GD's last day at Primary School. I worked out that with 5 children and 9 GC I have spent 34 years taking and collecting from various Primary Schools. Come September my aged car and I can have a breather.
Close to my feelings Bukkie !
I might extend it to 3 months of Spring , 1 month of Summer, 4 months of Autumn….oh dear I’d better rethink that!
4 of Spring (of the March -May sort) ,max 2 months of Summer - the sort where it rains at night but you can plan picnics, weddings, summer fêtes with impunity, 3 of Autumn, season of mists and mellow fruitfulness etc and I’ll be brave and say 3 of Winter just so that I can get my moneys worth out of my lovely huge all-enveloping (and covering ) woolies.
But on condition it is cold and crisp, with a dusting of snow on Christmas morning, no fog, no black ice and no 40 days and nights of rain.
Is that too much to ask?
The first signs of autumn (e.g. leaf fall) begin in July where I live. I like seasons and missed them when I was in the tropics where it was always hot and always wet, the only variation being hotter and wetter.
I get tired of the darkness of winter and love the long light of summer but otherwise seasons and weather can just get on with their endless changes. There is always something new to look forward to and find. 🌾 🍁 🍃 ❄️ 🌦️ 🌼
I would have 8 months of Autumn, 2 of winter, 1 of Spring and 1 of Summer. The only reason I would have one month of summer would be to shut up the whinging sun worshippers who will get to the end if this hot summer and still turn round and say, "We haven't had any decent weather this year." My elderly mum is and always has been a sun worshipper so I can confidently say whenever it is a slightly dull or cooler day she will forget the scorching temperatures and heatwaves and moan.

'As my dad used to say “don’t wish your life away”.'
My Mum used to say that, honeyrose!
Although this heat is draining.
Every winter I wish so badly for more light and some warmer days.
There is no way I will diss summer when it arrives. The light, the long nights. If it's too hot, I can go with it and rest.
But I do really feel for those GNetters who have heavy caring duties in this weather
I prefer autumn to summer. Usually less intense heat and less biting insects. The colours of autumn are so much nicer than the dried up look we have now after all the heat.

Autumn is my favourite season so my mood is starting to lift knowing it is on the horizon. I hope the hot weather doesnt extend into Autumn, it will make me cross that I am being deprived of the best time of year especially because the hot weather started so early this year. I have SAD in reverse and hate summer and light nights with a passion. Unfortunately there's no sympathy for people like me, we are just called misery guts and weird.
I like it to be pleasantly warm, not baking and airless like some recent days.
I also like running around in shorts and little tee shirts, no socks, sleeping with just a sheet covering me lightly, doing a load of washing and not thinking ‘will it rain?’, eating sungold tomatoes and cucumbers from the greenhouse, getting up soon after 5am because I’m awake and it’s light, having a shower with the window open instead of the fan on, sitting in the shade under the apple tree in the garden reading a book and not feeling guilty….
Come September, a lovely month, but seeing the school children going back, a bit of a nip in the air, nights ‘drawing in’, all feels a bit 🥲
As my dad used to say “don’t wish your life away”. I often think of that. September will come soon enough. Although I must admit, the heatwaves are not welcome for me and DH.
Nobody mentioned rain. We had a prolonged drought last year from a dry winter through to the end of summer. This year we had a couple of light showers between the first two heat waves then nothing since. Any moment now Thames Water will reinstate last year’s hose ban and I’ve been watering the garden on alternate days for a month.
Extreme heat together with lack of rain must be having a huge impact on trees, plants and wildlife.
So my vote goes to the Less Sun More Rain party.

I'm with BlueBelle and TerriBull. I'd vote for nine months of summer, and one month each of autumn, winter, and spring.
I would like to vote for this plan too!

This would also suit me perfectly 😀
I would miss the sun not wouldn't. But I can get out and go to aircon places.

I hate winter I need summer to go on 9 months of the year
Thank you
Me too! Just not quite as hot please x
I'd go for 7 months of summer , 2 of lovely autumn colours, and 2 of the fresh greens of spring where the world comes alive, and one winter month. But it would have to stay light for longer hours in spring and autumn in my plan.
Currently - as things are, but with overnight rain. I wouldn't miss the sun and the light clothes and people out and about more cheerful for a bit, and in the park people who rarely come out as they are in wheelchairs and so on and its hard to stay warm enjoying the shady bits or coffee under the umbrellas.

And not having to wear socks at all, ever, in the summer is great.
Yes , we need some rain. But, you can keep the miserable damp short days of late Autumn and winter. Loving this warm weather and light clothing. I feel so much better .
Id prefer some rain, but not for autumn to appear until November.
I agree Oreo. I normally love the lighter nights and warmer weather, means we can spend more time outside, but the hot temps here in London mean that for weeks now we have been unable to go out until evening or get up super early.
And everywhere is tinder dry with the risk of fires.
Roll on more temperate weather with rain as well as more seasonal temps.
And for the first time I really am looking forward to autumn.

Noooo! September can be beautiful but it's also a prelude to shorter days and colder weather and signals the final days of summer, if we're lucky we'll get an Indian Summer that can stretch into October. I know such intense heat as we've been experiencing isn't great in a heaving metropolis. On a personal note, we've been down in South Hams. Devon for nearly two weeks now and it's been heavenly. I'll be so sad when the gloomy grey days are here again.
Yes, depends where in the country you are doesn’t it? But I’m with the OP on this roll on September and never thought I’d say it but roll on some rain.😩
