A very late Good Morning from Stockport.
I have been unable to log in to GN since yesterday lunchtime, then had a dreadful night for no reason, finally dropped of to sleep about 7 and woke half an hour ago when my GD was able to fix the problem, I shall miss her in so many ways.

Yesterday I made contact with a local cleaning company and have fixed a deep house cleaning for two weeks time.
If I am happy I shall have them come every two weeks, it will be a huge weight off my mind.
The gardeners also came for the third time and I am happy with them.

A very lazy day for me ,but no change really, I am finding any physical task very challenging.
I hope you can all enjoy some of Sunday.

Good morning Micheal and all GN's at last on a breezy greyish day in North Yorkshire. Have had a frustrating start to my day with the laptop starting up but presenting me with a blank screen. I have fiddled and faffed about, but at last it is now working. Have no idea if anything I did helped it, or it just righted itself. I have been catching up and reading all your posts.

Yesterday I went down to the market on the yellow peril. I was glad of my bicycle bell to give little tings, to warn people I was close by, as it is very quiet . With the cooler day, it was very very busy on the market, with everyone trying to catch up with shopping and jobs before it warmed up. Good news for the stalls, all doing a lot of business. There is a clothes stall , which has all sorts including some rather good patchwork trousers and tops etc., He had some new cotton tops and was doing great business in the sunshine.

I got most of what I needed there but stopped outside the paper shop and tried to catch the eye of one of the staff, but it was so sunny outside and dark to look in that I wasnt sure if they had seen me. My back was being so bad I really was trying to avoid getting off and on the buggy, but fortunately someone had seen me so I was able to get the Yorkshire post and pay him, and then glad to get home with everything .

I had intended to do a bit more sorting, but by the time I had put shopping away and got something to eat, I had had enough, and was happy to sit , and lie down at times, watching the rugby. Hope I can get back to normal tomorrow. So glad you had some help and all went well for you Grandmattie. Hope you are enjoying your Tour de France Micheal. You will all be halfway through your day byo
now but hope it keeps going well

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.

Yesterday’s clouds have moved on. We only had a couple of showers in the end. The sunshine is back now and MrB and I have enjoyed a walk around the Dock. It’s a bit cooler than recent days. I am so grateful for my triwalker, I would not be able to get out without it.

Good to see you dear Marydoll. I hope Dragonfly is managing and her back is improving, I don’t think she’s posted yet today.

Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday. 🌹

Good morning from Sheffield
I am in the garden again. It’s so lovely to do a bit of gardening. I haven’t done any for a while since it’s been hot

The Derren Brown show was amazing. I realise some of it is sleight of hand and hypnotism but what he did was just unfathomable, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Today we are off to brother and sister-in-law‘s for lunch. Sister-in-law is not very well so we will hopefully lift her spirits
Take care everyoneflowers

Morning all from a cooler West Oxfordshire.

Yesterday was fun. Granddaughter enjoyed Horrible Histories, the Terrible Tudors and lunch at Pizza Express.

Today’s outing is lunch at an Italian followed by the film Moana.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where Alexa tells me it’s 14°C at present and will rise to 23°C. So just like yesterday which was a lovely sunny day.

I’ve not long been awake from my last dream. Himself had his jacket on and I asked him where he was going. No don’t, I said I’d rather come back home with you and we had a wonderful lingering kiss. It seemed so very real when I ‘heard’ his voice. I had a little cry when I lay there thinking about it. Hey ho.

So I’m off to see my stepfather again this morning I’m a bit concerned how frail he looks and exhausted with the shingles. I want to assess whether to call the doctor out to him tomorrow. He is sleeping so much during the day yet sleeps well during the night too. I have to remember he’s 94 and the shingles has knocked the stuffing out of him. Yet I also need to consider whether he might be anaemic. Or low because he’s sad (his brother of 100 died only a few weeks ago) and lonely. It’s a concern.

Later this afternoon I’m walking over to have a slice of Boy Wonder’s birthday cake at theirs. He has finished high school for the summer holidays now. L’il Miss finishes Tuesday and teacher mum on Friday. 3 Trafford schools, all different. 🤷‍♀️

GrannySomerset Sun 19-Jul-26 08:51:52

Church in the next village followed by not much, I think - other than the Sunday paper, which I have been to buy before breakfast. I slept very badly so went to buy a paper at what for me is an indecently early hour.

Hope everyone has a satisfactory day with a minimum of frustrations, especially Marydoll.

Grammaretto Sun 19-Jul-26 08:46:55

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's 12° but rising to 21° later.

Yesterday's mostly garden party to celebrate my friend's DH went very well. I am pleased because she was quite anxious beforehand.
Today I shall ask my helpers to bring back the chairs, glasses and cutlery she borrowed although it should perhaps go into a communal space somewhere else. I won't need so much stuff when I eventually move.

I looked at yet another house yesterday. Not right for me and needing work.

My back pain is still so debilitating. It gets me down. I'm sitting against an icepack waiting for the painkillers to work.

If they do I plan to help a young woman to fire her kiln for the first time.

Tonight my lodgers have invited me and my helpers to dinner. The pipe under their sink is dripping so I may have to attend to that with washer and tape.

Your fête went very well gMattie by the sounds of it. Well done!

Glamis castle gardens look smart Gelisa I've driven past several times but never visited.

Lovely drawing. Hollysteers
There are 2 fledgling gulls on my driveway. A parent on the roof of neighbouring flats.
They are hungry.

Hoping everyone has something nice to look forward to today.

Good morning all from a coolish North Leicestershire.

Not a lot happening here today thankfully.

We really enjoyed Abigail's Party at the theatre yesterday and it was lovely to see my GN twin there with her friend. The play was really well received so it was disappointing to see the theatre was only half full.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning everyone. Just popping in to say how lovely it was to coincidentally meet Kitty and her DH at the theatre, yesterday. Even more of a coincidence, as out of the 100s of rows they were sat in the row in front of us.
I agree the performance was excellent, but the summer holidays certainly reduced the audience.
Have a good day one and all.

latedecember1963 Sun 19-Jul-26 08:33:06

Good morning everyone from everyone from our final day in Anglesey before heading home today.
Going to break my usual rule and catch up with all your news later.
Safe travels to anyone on the move and wishing you all a lovely Sunday.
Take care. 🌻

Ashcombe Sun 19-Jul-26 08:23:37

DH and I are giggling over our coffee, Grandmabatty!
I had a similar experience many years ago when leaving church late after a meeting. I couldn't understand why my key wouldn't open the mini door ..... the appearance of the actual owner helped me understand why!

ginny Sun 19-Jul-26 08:16:39

Good morning from a warming N. Bucks.
Good day yesterday with our friends and they were thrilled that all 3 of our DDs made the effort to pop in to see them.
Today I am off to a craft workshop. There will be 6 of us. I’m going seemed with homemade carrot cake and individual chocolate chimney cakes.
Wishing all a good day especially those with illness and worries to deal with.

Liberty Sun 19-Jul-26 08:15:47

Good morning from another cloudy start to the day but there are signs of emerging sun. I must get out and water the pots soon before the sun reaches them. I had a day off that task yesterday because of the drop in temperature.

DS and tribe are coming to visit although not DGD1 as she has her holiday job and tips are best she tells us at the weekend.

We always have a job or 2 for DS assisted by DGS3 ,today being to erect trellising along a side wall where the climbing rose is rampant. He always gives the house a once over and points out things that need attention. We are both quite casual about such things! As our builder told us many years ago,the house has stood for hundreds of years,it will last a few more years yet.

Hope today is an easy one for all.

Jaxjacky Sun 19-Jul-26 08:14:05

Morning from a cooler S Hants, my son will be here soon to help with garden watering.
A quiet day yesterday, spoke to MrJ who is enjoying his trip home.
I’ll be having a tidy up later, not sure what’s for dinner.
Safe travels and enjoy your Sunday.

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 10 degrees C.

I have lost my earlier post, because I was trying to type on my tablet, with my swollen, claw like hand. Now the other hand is also very painful.
A case of Déjà vu: This is what forced me into early retirement 10 years ago.
All I ask, is for one day of respite.

I have heard from Susan, she sends her best wishes to all. Life is problematic, health wise for her, but she hopes to be back soon.

Bella, it sounds as if you have had a lovely time. Thank goodness, GN took down the photo quickly.
Years of training teachers in internet safety and safeguarding, have made me very vigilant. Sadly, some posters think it is a fuss about nothing
However, it is so easily done, I too have mistakenly done this.

As for trying to get in the wrong car, I did the same at the doctor's the other day. DH was sitting waiting in the car, while I failed to get into the car behind. He just sat there laughing.
I couldn't understand why he wasn't in the car! 😂

He offered to wash the cars yesterday, in order to get some fresh air. It took him hours, because people kept passing by and chatting. He hardly speaks to anyone from one day to the next, I was so pleased he was interracting.
However..... my job was to clean the interiors, but when I got into my car, I could hardly see out of the windscreen, it was covered in a filthy, greasy, brown film. It wasn't like that before he washed it! 😡
Of course, he denied all responsibilty!

I don't know if I have previously mentioned, that I have little or no voice, it's a permanent thing, related to my RA. and causing all sorts of problems for me.
Last night on my way back from Mass, I decided to stop off for Indian takeaway, because I couldn't face cooking.
I placed my order, but was shocked at the cost. However, since I haven't done this for ages, I thought that must be correct.
Sitting thinking about it, I heard a man ordering a similar meal, but it was ten pounds cheaper.
I was just about to query it, when the takeaway delivery driver arrived and asked if I was OK. He used to be our school janitor.
It turned out, that due to my lack of voice, the waitress didn't hear me asking for a set meal for two.
What a carry on!
They were unable to return my payment by card, so it took three of them to work out, how much to give me back in cash. 😁
PS, my permanent hoarseness, is the cause of DH's permanent deafness. wink

Safe journey, Ash.
GM, it's always good to hear affirmation about ourselves. Working as a volunteer, one can sometimes feel unappreciated.

I had hoped to potter in the garden, but wont't be able to do much, it is too painful.
I may run to LIDL for more choc mint ice lollies, I have become addicted to them unfortunately DH has too!!! A simple pleasure.

I wish you all a Buona Domenica!, it sounds so much better than, Have a good Sunday.

brook2704 Sun 19-Jul-26 08:07:27

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a sunny start to the day
Lovely to get a compliment GM especially with everything you do
Yesterday I did a little bit of everything, cleaning, gardening, sorting stuff out etc. and it’ll be more of the same today with the added bonus of bed changing and washing thrown in. We might pop out later for a quick shop, will see. DS is on holiday just now in a different of Switzerland so there’s no video chat this morning but I did get a few holiday pictures last night.
That made me giggle grandmabatty what a relief!
Safe travels Ash, Bellas and everyone on the move today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning Mick and all 🙋‍♀️

No plans for today, I shall potter around the house and garden and hopefully be productive.

Thinking of all our poorly friends 🌸

Safe journeys to the travellers.

Wishing you all a peaceful day 🙋‍♀️

Good morning everyone from a sunny but cool mid Essex. It was cloudy for most of yesterday, the sun came out at about 6 o’clock. The house is a little cooler anyway.
My usual morning walk was cut short yesterday because the dog training group had moved into the shade and were blocking the footpath along one side of the recreation ground. It’s too uncomfortable to take the rollator across the grass. It wasn’t even sunny so no need for them to move from their usual location.

DD1 may call in today, otherwise it will be a quiet day. The washing is on and will go outside to dry, provided I can get the sheets on the line. It’s hard for me to reach now!

Safe and trouble free journeys home for ashcombe and bellasnana and also for anyone else travelling today.
grandmattie I’m relieved that you had some good helpers yesterday at the church function. I hope you are able to have a long rest today.
gelisa what a beautiful garden, so lovely and green! I hope you can get some relief from your ear infection soon and that your asthma improves too.

Have the best day you can everyone.

hollysteers Sun 19-Jul-26 07:31:29

Good morning from Sunnyside northwest coast. I kept up my walking yesterday and I’ve been asked for another song for Wednesday’s concert, so I’ve dug one out which needs practising.
As I’m leaving for the south the morning after, I’m organising that as well as my concert outfit etc. last night’s film was The Hireling from 1973 and it was marvellous.

Not a great night, my hip troubling me.
Sad sketch of my cat’s latest offering, possibly telling me what a lousy hunter I am😢. Thoughts to all🌺

Gingster Sun 19-Jul-26 07:28:32

Good morning all and it’s sunny and beautifully cool here in Essex.

Yesterday went well with our visitors. Lunch and lots of chat. ds1 and DIL came a bit later for a cuppa and the noise level rose a few decibels. Lovely to catch up with them all. My two brothers are 10 and 8 years older than me and I notice they’re aging now, 😢, so will have to get together more often.
Dh was quiet but enjoyed having them here, despite his dismay when I told him they were all coming.

Today I’ll chillax as I’ve had a busy week.,

Mistaken identity , like mine on Friday GrandmaBatty. 🤣.
Safe travels to all on the move, and hoping all the poorlies are feeling better today 🙏.

Take care all 🌺

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Quiet day today, chat to DB and gammon for lunch.
Best wishes specially to those travelling

harrigran Sun 19-Jul-26 07:09:55

Good morning from an overcast NE.
Travelled home from Scotland yesterday with DS, GD1 drove her sister and mother home in the other car.
It was DIL'S birthday but we didn't have time to give her gifts at breakfast so DS took them home.
Today will be a quiet day, only a couple of things left in the suitcase to put away. May put the washer on, will see how I feel when I get up.
Have a good day everyone.

Gagagran Sun 19-Jul-26 07:05:09

Good Morning everyone from a sunny central south coast. The temperature is much more comfortable than the heat wave imposed on us but we really do need some rain. Might try a rain dance?

Laundry this morning and more of the Tour de France to enjoy on TV. It's very exciting with wonderful scenery and superb athleticism displayed.

Safe journey back to Portsmouth Ash - I'll give you a wave as your ferry comes in! (On time !) Also, safe travels to Bellas and family and anyone else on the move.

My DS won't be on the move for a while as he has ruptured his achilles tendon and is in a boot for 8 -12 weeks. He self-diagnosed a torn calf muscle initially but had a scan when it wasn't improving at all. Being, like his Dad was at the same age, an action man, it will be very hard for him and I suspect, equally hard for his lovely wife and daughters!

Kind thoughts to all in need of some sympathy or empathy and hope that worries and struggles ease today.
