American pie is another ‘cruise ship song’ especially the chorus! And ‘take me home, country road’ by John Denver. There are usually quite a few Americans on board.

So you too had to sing, ‘Sweet Caroline’ on the same ship as I was on. If so the poor crew must be fed up with hearing it sung.

I learnt all the words to American Pie as a teenager, so always have to sing along to that when I hear it.

I sing along to Livin' La Vida Loca by Ricky Martin, and Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars to help with the housework. For older stuff, anything and everything by The Beatles.

When I am alone I like to sing along with the big ballads by people like Dusty Springfield and Shirley Bassey !
