Re-reading Agatha Christie, I cannot help noticing some of the changes that have occurred in our daily lives, since she wrote her first books.
One small detail: a nicely brought up young girl actually stamps her foot upon being annoyed by something said to her.
This made me wonder, if anyone actually does this any more?
To the best of my knowledge and belief I have never seen anyone do so (apart perhaps from two year olds in tantrums).
I have certainly never dared do it, after being reproved at the age of four or five by my mother, who said, "Don't stamp your foot at me, young woman!" in a tone of voice that clearly warned me that the next time I did so, I would be sent to bed without my dinner!
So, the question is, does anyone actually do this now, or would it be totally unacceptable adult behaviour?
