I usually hide them, most of them are AI.
Occasionally I've got caught and thought what a waste of my time!

They are like watching a particularly highly-coloured soap opera.
I suspect the purpose of them is to get you to click on the "read more" button to get the denouement where the mother-in-law, sister-in-law, or spiteful work colleague get their come-uppance, and the author of the page gets their fraction of a penny/cent per click from Google/Facebook's monetising scheme.

Witzend, they are my guilty pleasure! To be honest, I have had enough of them.

I remember finding them on YouTube - I felt dreadful after reading the first one, then when another one popped up the penny dropped and I realised they were just stories someone was writing. Who knew there were all these rich, clever ex-business women being evicted from their marital home by greedy sons and daughters

Haven't seen any for quite a while now, I think they have dropped off my algorithm.

No, not as far as I know, never looked at one as I'm not really interested in cats.

... I saw her, too, oh - and the cheating husband who wants an immediate divorce from his disbelieving wife who really should have noticed his growing hostility by now, kicked the bas***d out and changed the locks.

The story-lines are so predictable and the dialogue cringingly awful - AI really needs to up its game.

... and I need to stop scrolling.

I thought I was the only one who got these. They started off with endings that were pretty good. Now it’s more often than not a let down. I’ve been poorly over the weekend and found myself reading all that came my way to see if there was any fresh ideas, but no.

Posts like this can be hidden or blocked quite easily, perhaps someone might help and show you how to do so 😊

It's called engagement farming. There's some advantage to be had from getting people to click. It's also called click bait, I think.
Don't be tempted to find out what happens. It's made up to get you to look.

I seem to get lots of videos connected to the US forces where one daughter is ridiculed by the whole family for not making. a success of her life only to come across a senior officer/5 star general saluting her or similar. I have no armed forces connections so wonder why.

The point of them is rage bait. They're intended to annoy people and annoyance comes with comments, comments come with a much further reach and more people then comment or watch other videos... The people posting them are making money on each video and the more engagement they have the more they earn... So they are after money, just not directly asking you for it.
