having a frustrating day

Today we have quite a good breeze, and cooler than the last couple of days. Yesterday I had a rotten day of migraine and couldnt bend over without feeling dizzy and nauseous etc. Had to accept the situation and just get through the day, which I did. Couldnt read or watch tv or do much at all.

Better than yesterday, but still not 100% and didnt feel up to doing anything much , and not up to going out in the wind and sunshine to the market. But I find myself trying to do various things and then having to give up, and I feel more annoyed about it today instead of just accepting it like yesterday. I think that having to miss the opportunity to get out on a cooler day is part of it. Just have to hope that things improve tomorrow, and it stays a bit cooler. Dont see why I am more uptight today than yesterday!

There's a virus going round, a stomach bug causing sickness and/or stomach pain, some have diarrhoea and high temperature.

Take it easy and drink plenty of fluids, perhaps sports drinks of you have them.

Hope your feeling better tomorrow listen to your body, you will soon be out again on the yellow peril.

Ps hope you'll feel better tomorrow and don't try to do too much.

madeleine I hope you feel better tomorrow. I occasionally have a day where I can't face doing anything. Today was one of those. I slept and read for most of it. I refuse to feel guilty and I know I will do more later today or tomorrow. Take care of yourself

I get migraines too, Madeleine and call those post-migraine days ‘cottonwool brain days’. The actual headache goes but I feel out of sorts. I hope tomorrow is better for you - get well soon. flowers

I get vestibular migraines, they make me feel sick and dizzy. I usually have to stay in bed the first day, then usually I’m up and about the 2nd day but not much good to anyone. They’re very annoying and time thief’s but there’s worse things. Hope you feel a whole lot better tomorrow.

I hope you feel better today. Migraines are awful.

I get migraines and feel irritable after the worst symptoms recede, I think it is because my brain hasn’t recovered enough to get on with things but my body wants to try.
I usually need a few days to fully recover.
Be kind to yourself and trust your brain to know best.

That sounds very frustrating, especially as you couldn't even console yourself with a good film or book.
Does listening to music help at all?

So sorry for you, as a fellow sufferer I really do feel your pain.
I am taking fewer preventatives now but still have occasional rather than very regular attacks. Horrid reminders each time.

The energy in the day is being `stolen` by the massive discharge of ions from the sun. Outside may say 21 degrees but I am another who is feeling the effects of the internal molecules being stirred and shaken. It makes me break out in a sweat several times during the day

Make no mistake this radial and ionic discharge from the sun is massive and we are only small creatures on the earth. Try and take it in your stride and do nothing much at all. We cannot prevent this attack by ions and high energy radiation.

Wear clothes that allow perspiration to be absorbed and go with the flow, it will pass, everything passes but try not to fight it and quieten your mind too, we cannot do anything but go with the flow in order to survive

Some physical signs of this energy effect on earth, earthquakes, turbulence under the surface of the sea, volcanic eruptions. All activations of physical molecules

I’ve looked up the ion level and google is telling me that it is low and very quiet at the moment.

Thankyou all for your kind messages, I appreciate them. Today I am feeling mentally more like myself, but rather wiped out physically, so am taking things slowly. It is grey and breezy here today and a little cooler, so am tempting the rain by putting the washing in. I will see it as a win win situation, stay dry and get the washing dry in double quick time, rain and be pleased to see it, Not making any great plans for the rest of the day, but it is lovely to be able to have radio 3 on quietly. Hope you are all having a decent day

GrannyIvy Thu 06-Aug-26 13:49:20

Pleased you are feeling a little better mentally but your body is obviously telling you to rest. The long spell of very warm weather is very draining. I have struggled which is unusual for me. Do hope you are out and about with your picnics soon.

It's so difficult isn't it when we're not going at the pace we normally go at. That's the frustrating part. Something comes along and clouts us into submission for a while. I know this happens occasionally and I do know how to calm my mind when this happens. I don't see those resting days as wasted, I see them as a way of storing up some strength for the new me ahead. I hope you feel on top of things soon. It doesn't always happen immediately, sometimes it comes on slowly, but just take each day/hour/minute as it comes.

LynW Thu 06-Aug-26 15:49:45

Good advice Warbler. Not seeing a day as ‘wasted ‘ but storing up strength for days ahead. I too was poorly last week with a nasty little UTI infection and laid around for days. When the antibiotics began to work a little I tried to get on top of all the things I’d got behind on, but frustratingly of course I wasn’t properly well and didn’t have enough energy. Need to listen to my body and bide my time until my mind and body are working together. Glad you feeling a little better madeleine45 - hope you continue to get stronger and have some good days ahead. Take care of yourself.

I hope that you feel better soon.smile

Well still plodding along folks. The cleaners came this afternoon, and were very good, picking up things I couldnt reach for and being very quiet, putting pots away etc., knowing what migraines can be like. So I crept about and shut myself away and just stuck the washing out on clothes horse on the lawn in front of me , instead of going down to the washing line, which I couldnt manage today. It stayed grey all day and quite windy and looked like rain but that never arrived. So glad to be at least a bit cleaner and tidier, but not chanced going out. Shame the washing didnt tempt the rain at all! Fingers crossed for a better day tomorrow.

Yes, my sister in law had to pull out of our meeting yesterday because of this.
