The solar eclipse on Wednesday 12th August

Ideally placed here in the CI however I’m not so excited as the last one. Really did find that quite thrilling.

So, with the collander method, I should stand with my back to the sun, and look at a sheet of white paper, where said collander will make lots of little elipse images through the holes?
Is that right please, anyone?

Well, that's just great. It's been a lovely sunny day until now. Clouds have accumulated and the sun is behind them just as the eclipse is about to commence.
I hope they clear away before 7 o'clock but I'm not holding my breath.

That which looks blue is actually deep grey.

Does the time vary according to location?
Is that a ridiculous question?

You have to move it around a lot.

Youtube are showing live pictures from the Royal Observatory Greenwich if you're interested. I have it on as my sun is behind clouds.

It seems to be getting a little dark here, and breezy.

I remember watching one when I was at senior school. We all used photo negatives to look through.
In 1999 we were in holiday in the south of France. We were out on a boat when everything went dark. Quite an experience. Will be outside with our colender a few minutes to watch this one.
