Good morning, it’s cloudy and pleasantly cool here in south Glos at the moment. I completely agree with you grandMattie, it’s getting frightening that there’s no end in sight to this relentless heat.
I had to smile when I woke up this morning, I’m supposed to sleep sitting up so have plenty of pillows. I woke up flat on my back, lower legs over the end of the bed and it took me a minute or two to sort myself out. Luckily the pain isn’t too bad but I need to have a rethink today.
DS came yesterday, so lovely having him. He cooked supper; I happily let him take over the kitchen when he’s here, he loves cooking. He’s doing a roast dinner today.
I hope you have a pleasant day x

Good morning from another bright and sunny Black Country, where it is only 14 deg at the moment.

We will set off around 9.30 to collect caravan at the storage site near Burnham. Hook up then off to Lyme Regis. A lovely caravan park 3 miles out side Lyme, and on the bus route, so easy to pop into town with our bus passes.

DS is safely home from St. Ives. Left their caravan site at 5.45am and were home by midday. Then had a 50th party in the evening!

Bit week for DGD2, as A level results are out on Thursday. She is coming over here with DD to get results and meet up with friends. Shame I won't be here!

Wishing you all a lovely Sunday

Good morning all from the Black country another sunny day ahead.
No plans as yet maybe make a start on shredding some old paperwork, will see how I feel once breakfast is out the way.
Roast pork for dinner.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Has anyone heard from Pantglas?
Have a good day everyone 😎.

Good morning all.
Up earlier today as we have 14 family members coming for lunch. Mostly prepared yesterday . Just jacket potatoes to put in the oven and one pudding to be finished off. The two youngest have made some bunting so must make sure that is it up. It looks like another sunny day so we will be in the garden .
I hope our poorly GNs find some relief and a pleasant day wished for all.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14° and wet. Bellasnana enjoy dinner tonight.
Yesterday I had a nice time with my friend and enjoyed breakfast which she paid for. My turn next time. Dd, Dsil and the boys appeared! They were making the most of the last weekend before school starts back. Later, I stripped the bed and washed everything, dried it and remade my bed. I love that fresh bed smell. The usual housework was completed too, so the house is tidy.
Today I will head to Aldi for food. Then I have an order for more cookies for the boys to complete. I have no other plans. My aunt and uncle might appear. They have been away in France for a number of weeks. Ds flies home from Corfu this evening. Have a good day all.

Good morning from Malta where we have another hot day dawning with a high of 40°C and a low of 29°C.

Didn’t do much yesterday apart from a bit of laundry which soon dried outside.

The weeks seem to fly so fast. I find it quite alarming.😨

Had a few messages from my son’s partner in Bulgaria to say her grandfather has died and her poor grandmother is not coping well. She, her mum and aunt are taking it in turns to stay with her so she isn’t alone. Poor lady, my heart aches for her.

She said my son has been a tower of strength. He is kind like his late father.
I miss them so much but DD3 and I plan to take the boys over later this year.

Mass this morning, chat with my Leicester pal who is still waiting to see her doctor re abnormal x-ray results.

Out for dinner tonight with the family including my nephew and his family who leave tomorrow.

Wishing a peaceful Sunday to all.☀️

Good morning from sunny dry s somerset and thank goodness for cooler nights

I was on the allotment for a few hours and had a long lovely chat with someone. A bit less water was needed, the newish thornless blackberry bushes are putting roots down in search for water, the asparagus is looking green and all the squash is fast maturing with fewer leaves. left on the plants

Ordering seeds for next season last night, I am being cautious and going to grow veg that will survive in heat and drought. Silly me put all my beetroot in the garage to dry off before storage, I forgot about them and every one of them got soft (cooked). I have tried to revitalise them but no joy so they are now with the compost worms. I won`t be growing so many next year

The dusting was done first thing, it was quick with a microfibre glove, bit by bit I am keeping on top of chores which leaves time for me to do nice things like going on a long cycle ride this morning.

My dress frill is finished attached to a pointed yoke, it was tremendously difficult but looks lovely. I am only sewing for an hour at a time now, before bed or when I want to prevent a doze

Fifth heatwave is building, give me strength

Good morning from a dark, clear Bristol. Warming up again. I’m heartily sick of the relentless heat and drought. I don’t remember feeling like that in ‘76, but then it’s been a long time.

Yesterday was quiet, just coffee in church. Quite a few attendees, some of whom haven’t attended to some time.

I spent a quiet day, then just before sunset, I heard balloon burners. It took me a while to figure out where to see the balloons. I finally saw four going over. This is the famous Bristol balloon festival weekend but I live the wrong side of town to see balloons regularly or during the festival.

Today? Not much; church then still assembling the quilt. I may sit out, if it isn’t too hot.

Best wished to those in sickbay. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
