I have looked and looked for a thread because I know I started one not so long ago about spiders cannot find it,all the ones I find are going back years and years so anyway
This is what I’ve invested in because my big fear is that one will go on my face at night
I don’t mind them, and I will put them out when I find them. I will not kill a spider….

Looks like a brilliant idea for mosquitoes.
I shoo spiders out of the way when I’m hoovering but I never put them out. I read somewhere that there are indoor and outdoor spiders and the indoor ones need to be indoors.
I do get rid of their nests in the window frames though.

Don't bother with conkers! spiders are bigger than the conkers!

Yes - a spider I caught and evicted a couple of weeks ago looked big enough to remove any conkers itself - in fact its thick, hairy legs looked strong enough for it to pick up any conkers and lob them in self defence if given it the chance!

Perhaps you didn't adopt the right tone of voice and they didn't take you seriously grin

Very possibly.
I need to cultivate a stern spider admonishment tone.

I have a dilemma, with infinite wisdom, when decluttering, I decided to put boxes of things I wanted to keep in the crawl space upstairs and now I need a couple of things from the boxes, but I know the crawl space will be infested with spiders. DH never bothered about spiders but is disabled now so can’t go in the crawl space, and I am literally petrified of spiders. So am seriously considering buying the stuff I need that o know is in the crawl space.

Slightly off topic (or is it?), I used to be terrified of spiders until my lodger (total nutter but wise, you know the type) told me that all spiders are called Candice Marie and you have to dare them to get you. You look the spider square in the eye and say, "Go on then, Candice Marie - GET me!" And what happens? She doesn't get you. So you shrug and walk away "OK, be like that then, I don't care..." She only came in to eat her boyfriend anyway. shock
I am no longer afraid of spiders. I do put them out using a glass & postcard though.

Your typo/auto-correct version has really cheered me up. I love the image it conjured up in my head of you trying to talk them into leaving your house. 😂

Candice Marie! Funny name for a boy spider!
