Spice Girls Reunion?

Well, a sure sign that it's time to top-up the pension pot.

Especially for Posh Spice and her frock empire, finally turning in a profit after 18 years. I wonder which college she went to when she did her fashion foundation course?

In the mid seventies I bought some small dolls of the Spice Girls in hope to give them to some future granddaughter. However, my sons took time before they had children so I decided to give them to my nephew’s oldest daughter at the turn of the century.

They weren't formed till 1994, so don't think you did.

My son in law fast approaching 50 loves the spice girls ,has a cd of theirs in his car.His daughters bought him a spice girls doll as a joke Christmas present and he was delighted,my daughter is i to electronic 80s dance music ….she wasn,t a fanofthe Spice girls but she did buy tickets to their last reunion for him.
That might be his 50th birthday present sorted, depending when and where it is .

Never did like the Spice Girls, and not sure how they were all about ‘girl power’, my idea of ‘girl power’ would be Dolly Parton or Aretha Franklin, but hey ho.
For those who did like them I suppose a reunion would be a good thing.
I never liked the Gallagher brothers but have to admit that their music was pretty damn good and imagine their reunion was worth going to.

I read that they weren't actually doing concerts, just putting out a compilation album.
My daughter loved them, she even had a Spice Girls 7th birthday...although for some reason she went as Alanis Morisette smile

I do like Alanis Morisette.

Contrary to what some people think:

The Fashion & Beauty Empire: Her namesake brand, Victoria Beckham Holdings Ltd, hit a major milestone by turning its first-ever operating profit of £7.3 million, with annual revenues climbing to £129.8 million. The turnaround is heavily driven by her highly successful cosmetics line, Victoria Beckham Beauty, which generates two-thirds of the brand's total sales. Industry experts estimate the overall fashion and beauty label could fetch up to $700 million if sold. Good luck to them. If they can get away with it, why not? As long as they can sell their tickets, I'm not sure why it should bother anybody what they do.

Mojack26 Sat 12-Sept-26 19:15:49

Don't give a stuff tbh.The Beckhams are defo not short of cash...

Plevey08 Sat 12-Sept-26 19:56:52

I can't imagine Posh being part of it.
Can she sing 😂

Casdon Sat 12-Sept-26 20:12:00

The one who can really sing is Mel C, aka Sporty. Shes got a great voice.

Yes, her range was/is by far the best. Technically very good.

MissAdventure Sat 12-Sept-26 20:52:25

I saw sporty spice in 'Blood Brothers', and I have to say I was amazed at what a good voice she has.
I also met her after the show, and she really was lovely, down to earth, and pleasant.
I had to eat my words about that particular "girl".

Peaseblossom Sat 12-Sept-26 21:04:20

Couldn't stand them, stupid outfits. Felt sorry for sporty spice, she was the only one with a decent voice. Ginger spice was irritating with her posing, and scary spice was just as annoying with her loudmouth attitude. A couple of reasonable songs, but the rest were crap. Zig-a-zig -Aaah! What the hell?!

paddyann54 Oh dear. Ha ha!!!

Mel C was always the one with the voice, the most talented by far. I'm not sure their getting together now could replicate the success that Oasis have enjoyed the second time around and who now have a whole new army of fans as well as those from the first time around.

Paperbackwriter Sat 12-Sept-26 21:23:56

So many snooty and nasty comments on here. Why are you like this? The Spice Girls were entertaining. Their songs were fun. What's so bad? As for Victoria Beckham (who seems in the original post to get the most spiteful vitriol) her makeup range is terrific and if she's made a profit at last then good on her.

Oasis were always on their own, brilliant music. I saw them in Cardiff last year, and it really was an experience of a lifetime. We went to see the film yesterday, and it was so emotional to see the love from the fans all around the world - seeing young people in South Korea and Argentina singing all the words and so overcome they were crying was something else.

The Spice Girls were never that, but they were fun and good entertainment, they don’t deserve criticism for not appealing to people their music wasn’t aimed at.

TerriBull Sat 12-Sept-26 21:53:27

We now have 3 generations of Oasis fans in our family, my teenage granddaughter loves them too. Yeah I still think they're great. Lucky you seeing them live.

Brilliant 😀
My youngest daughter liked Alanis Morissette rather than the Spice Girls. Girls a bit younger than her loved the Spice Girls.
We're probably not the age group which made them so popular anyway.

Yes, Mel C has a good voice.

Why such meanness about them?
They were fun and had some good songs. Good luck to them all.

I agree.
They appealed to younger girls who are probably now late 30s, 40ish.

As for Oasis ..... Definitely Maybe Not

Just to add, the Spice Girls sold more records than Oasis and were more famous internationally.

Well said paperback writer, totally agree!
