Do you like a routine to your day or week, or are you someone who prefers to be spontaneous?

I like routine . Exercise class mondays . Meet friends for lunch and pub quiz tuesdays . DGD and a different pub quiz on Wednesdays. Shopping and cafe thursdays . chippy tea with BiL and SiL on Fridays . DGD Saturday and longer walk.with dog on Sundays . In fact I like my weekly routine so much I sometimes get FOMO on my holidays!

I like routine. I like to know how my week is going to shape up, with several fixed points, but still allowing some room for flexibility. I get more done this way, whereas if I have several consecutive days with nothing planned I tend to just waste time. Once something is planned I might struggle if somebody changes arrangements at short notice, especially if meal times are involved. I like to know the details of plans rather than going with the flow.
For example, next Saturday I am going to a wedding service ( not the reception) at 1 pm, which means leaving the house by 11.50, so either I eat some sort of brunch, or go hungry until after 2 pm, or 3 pm if I wait until I get home. This doesn’t really suit me but because I know in advance, I can plan for it, though I prefer my meals at my normal times.

The downside is that if it’s a nice day and I fancy going out somewhere, by the time I have got my head round the journey, the meal times, it might be too late!

I know we are all different! What works best for you? Why?
