Good morning from a mild Mid-Wales. Surprisingly, no rain forecast today!

I am staying with a relative who is recovering after an operation so yesterday I got all the food shopping for the week. Yesterday's dinner was beef stew with veg and rosemary followed by apple crumble and custard. Today I'll do a pasta bolognaise and an apple sponge. I'll make some oat cookies later.
A gentle stroll to the church and back then an afternoon of reading. Currently reading an Agatha Christie but it's not great. It was the last book she wrote and it's written in a different style to her earlier books.
Wishing all a happy Monday.

Good morning from s somerset, cool, dull and damp here, all day I think

Yesterday was a completely easy day, I completed the last of my downloaded patterns, all are now in A4 envelopes and ready to finish off to the right size, when I feel like it. I worked on my first quilted top and did a lot of easy hand sewing with a lovely pebble needle, like slicing through butter. Then I made a 3=day soup/casserole

To top the day I decided to get a project organised, to keep me busy in mind and body, over the new year week. All bits needed are now ordered

A good sleep followed and I am expecting to have another easy day but do need to do some exercise and will tackle the local walking route, with the steep hill

Today, I will finish quilted top number 1, it is a short one and not thick, perfect for slipping on when chilly but not cold. Gathering a load of washing is next as tomorrow will likely be a good drying day.

I have decided to not wait to make a quilted housecoat, a long one, I have some very good fabric, double gauze each side with a filling that is a good thickness. It feels cool today and the lights are dim, as they were last night. I am guessing that voltage has been lowered to try and conserve our energy reserves

Marzipan enjoy your out and about day

My heating is set to come on automatically at 18° grandMattie and it has been coming on a bit this past week though I have turned the radiators right down so I don't really notice it.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4° and dry. Still dark. Ashcombe good job! Ironing is my bete noire.
Yesterday dgs2 was so well behaved. We played more games of Frustration with the rules changing each time. He was very excited when he got a 6. When dd came for him, he insisted in playing a game with her too. After he left, i tidied up then went for a lie down. It turned into a 2 hour nap! Dinner was a very colourful plate of salad and chicken. Then a fairly early night.
Today is early childcare day. So I'm up having a coffee before porridge. I will drop off dgs1 at football camp then dgs2 will go to my house. No idea what we will get up to. Later I will pick up dgs1 again and have a couple of hours with him before his dad comes for him. Salad again for dinner. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a rainy Cornwall. I've woken up early and am hungry so will get up and make a drink and have a pre-breakfast snack in a minute.

I had the loveliest evening celebrating a family birthday at my eldest son's with a house full of my daughter-in-law's family. Much chaos ensued and my two 40-something sons ended up in a tangle on the floor with the youngest grandchildren. Add to the mix my ex who is newly single and it became an enjoyable if somewhat noisy evening, to say the least.

This morning I'm at my new sewing group which will be fun and heartwarming, after which I'll take whichever bus passes by first and go to a library somewhere for a mooch around. I do need some different piano music as I have played Diabelli to death so I may venture a bit further afield to the county music library and see what they have to offer.

It’s cooled down a lot recently. Has anyone put their heating on?
As mine is from those wretched night storage heaters, it’s not very flexible, so I haven’t yet, but snuggle under a blanket in the evenings…

Good morning from Bristol, it dry but rain is forecast.
I had a very quiet day yesterday. The church service had about 1/4 of normal parishioners, although the service was longer than usual, due to a warden giving us lots of information about the interregnum. Being a very active (and fairly rich) parish, with only the one church, the vacancy should be easy to fill - once all the hoops have been jumped through and the position advertised!
Once home, I had a quiet day. I did make some ginger nuts and chocolate biscuits for Wednesday’s FAB cafe, but little else.
Today, apart from Tesco with my neighbour, I have my not-WI committee meeting this evening, and bits and pieces to do.
I hope everyone has a good day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning Micheal and all GN's from a cold dark north yorkshire. I have been awake since before 3.30am and am rather struggling today. Its that vicious circle, as I started coughing last night, so nearly asleep and then start coughing. Wide awake, back hurting and now the lack of sleep is making me very weary and ratchety, with itchy skin that hurts if you scratch it! I hoped to get more sleep and not keep thinking of the eye situation but no such luck.

Yesterday I stayed in and wasnt feeling too good, so although I did get a certain amount of jobs done, I was very slow and not in the right mood to do a great deal.I did manage to get myself showered and hair washed , but at snails pace. Was able to sort out the kitchen a bit and then caught up with a few bits and wrote a letter to my brother to go in with hi8s birthday card. But everything seemed an effort and still plenty to sort out . I could not raise the enthusiasm for the ironing, have sorted out enough for the next few days and will start doing that shortly . I did manage to get a few things done and catch up a bit , and so things looking a bit cleaner if not tidier. Read some of the Yorkshire post and later watched Antique road show and the new play Time with David Tennant in it. Listened to DID and private passions and that was about it.

Well I am a bit more sorted out, ready to ring the hospital about my eye and see what they say. as I am now coughing a lot I will definitely have to wait for that to stop, but I should be able to find out how often I have to have treatment and if i can be transferred to the local hospital. So today it will be a slow start but hope to find out a fair bit on the phone. I tried to see if there was a way I could go over to see my family on the bus , but there is nothing until after christmas now so we may have to meet up as before at K Lonsdale or wherever..

Can only hope that I might wake up a bit more later and show more enthusiasm. Hope your trip to Bicester goes well Mike and that all gn's have more get up and go than me today!

Good morning from a dark but fine corner of La Sarthe.

Another early TIB but I expect we’ll doze off again, Perry permitting. He taps our bedroom window when he thinks breakfast should be served but insists on cuddles with us both beforehand.

Yesterday I managed to catch up with the ironing accompanied by hymns from Graham Kendrick which seemed appropriate for a Sunday. DH enjoyed an hour with his model railway layout which is housed in one of the barns.

I hope this is the start of a good week for all.
