Good Morning Wednesday Part 2.

I thought I may as well start a new thread, as the other one isn't working. The whole site seems to be a bit *flaky^ this morning.

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 6°C, with bright sunshine.

I was too unwell to put yesterday. I had to call the doctor, I have postural hypotension, due to my new heart meds. I could not stop vomiting. I was so sorry for myself. 😪
The doctor was lovely, prescribed anti nausea medication and gave me an appointment for next Wednesday.
The problem is, nothing can be done for me.
I have clear arteries and perfectly working valves, but inside of my heart, the micro vessels are failing. There is no treatment.

I had a visit from the PP yesterday, he arrived with two bunches of roses. An hour later, DH arrived with identical ones. 🤣

Yesyerday, a very flustered DH went to the surgery to pick up anti nausea medication, but when I looked in the bag, there were two boxes of rheumatoid medication and no anti nausea medication. How he managed that, I do not know.
He had to do another round trip of an hour to get the correct meds.
Meanwhile, I continued to be violently sick,

DH also went for his hearing test and to pick up our new glasses.
When I asked if he needed a hearing aid, he said he only had mild hearing loss and they were trying to sell him a hearing aid, when he didn't need one. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

A day in bed is in order.

DIL's mum (next door) has had a kidney removed, DH's golf partner across the road has a massive infection and I, with the heart attack , have all been in the same hospital at the same time this week!
What are the chances of that happening?

Gingster, for a moment, I thought that was your wedding photo!

Have a pleasant day, whatever your plans and best wishes to all my fellow mountaineers.

Just a note Marydoll anti nausea tablets gave me terrible constipation. So perhaps have laxatives handy and up your hydration.
Hope you feel better soon.

A rather late morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I spent most of yesterday lying on the sofa watching various things on YouTube. All I wanted for dinner was beans on toast so that’s what OH cooked me.

I am feeling a bit better today- especially as it looks as though there really has been a blue wave in the US!

I probably won’t go to the WI coffee morning though, as I don’t want to infect everyone. I had booked a Steak Night tonight at our local restaurant, but I’ll cancel that too.

Have a good day everyone. I hope MaryD will start feeling better soon and begin to recover.

I’m just in from a successful shopping trip and thought I’d catch up with you all. Obviously I’ve found part 2, and then
found the original thread, which finished in the middle of madeleine’s post!

marydoll I’m sorry you’re so poorly and hope that the anti nausea meds work soon, that you have stopped vomiting and that you don’t have constipation!

gingster my parents married in April 1939, they reached their Golden Wedding Anniversary, but didn’t get as far as 60 years.

Have the best day you can anyone who’s found part 2!

Thank you,*Marydoll*, my day is back on track. Hope you feel a little better soon.
I read the GM thread everyday but seldom post.

Good morning/afternoon!
I typed up a post in the original thread then couldn’t post it.
I’m shortly going out, there’s a free organ recital in the Cathedral, so will say no more. Except for wishing Marydoll a rapid improvement.
Best wishes to you all!

Good Morning all, oops no its not, its afternoon now!
Just popped on to see if the original GM thread was back up, appears not so Thankyou to MaryDoll for GM thread part 2, I hope you begin to feel better and less nauseous soon. 💐

As a quick aside-I posted a screenshot with info pertaining to the Teachers Pensions site onto yesterdays GM thread. However it was late afternoon so some of you who were discussing Teachers Pensions earlier may not have seen it. It was posted originally by Teachers Pensions on X (formerly Twitter)-why on there I can't fathom!
If anyone is interested I"ll DM it to them rather than clog up this thread any further. It suggested the 'refreshed' site was now available to access but not quite at 'full speed' yet. Hopefully navigation will be easier than the previous one, but I bet getting into it will need lots of info to hand and new logins created etc. Marvellous (not); I think I'll look tomorrow!

Hope you all have as good a remainder of the day, as you can. x

I think we all felt somewhat discombobulated without our usual GM fix so thank you Marydoll for sorting us out. I’m so sorry to hear about your chronic condition. Good though that no surgery is indicated and your main heart vessels are healthy. Rest up, take your new meds and take comfort perhaps in that your condition can be managed medically. You have been sent home that in itself is a good sign. We are all rooting for you I’m sure. x

I secured appointment with my GP when I rang at 8am. He said I’ve pulled my hamstring muscle. I went because it is very painful, I’m limping and after 9 days of paracetamol and a hwb it wasn’t improving.

Anyway a good dose of reassurance. It’s a thick inner thigh muscle so will take about a month to heal. I feel like a proper sportsperson hehe! Mug of tea now and application of ibuprofen gel. Gentle walking is advised to aid healing so I’ll be off to book club tonight. Crikey the novel is a bit soft porn in places! It’s won awards - hence someone’s choice.
