A future vet in the making?

I told my granddaughter that we have to take our dog to the vet because of a spot on her nose which has come up. Granddaughter's response?
Grabbing my stethoscope and hanging it around her neck, she asks me seriously:
"How long have you noticed this symptom in your dog?"
She then proceeds to examine the dog, asking her if she has any allergies and even checking her ipad (where she has hundreds of photos of our dog) to see if the spot was there on the photos.
"Hmm. You're right. This is something new." She then tells the rather bemused dog:
'You might have to have part of your nose cut off but it won't hurt much. I will give you a prescription."
Not a very reassuring treatment. Glad the dog didn't understand what she was saying!

You have a stethoscope?

I was a nurse! We all had our own.

Ah! Thank you. She obviously takes after you then in the caring department

did she then give you the bill?

Impressive vet spiel from your granddaughter! I hope it’s just a minor ailment for your dog.

Spice101, I am surprised she didn’t ask for payment, she’s very money savvy.
Juliet27, I hope so too.
FannyC, she’s very caring. Once she came with me when I was having stitches out. As soon as we sat down she patted my arm and said
“Now Gran, you mustn’t cry or make a fuss!”

when we got our kittens 4 years ago my then 8 year old GD told me that one of them had a umbilical hernia...I kid you not!
Shes had cats all her life and been used to taking them to the vet and she was actually checking the kitten when she found a lump.I laughed ,thought she had just heard it somewhere but I dropped into the vet to be sure .She was right ,it was an umbilical hernia, the vet says he'll take her on as a Saturday job when shes ready .
However she doesn't want to be a vet,she wants to be an undertaker ...well this month .Her other granny has care homes so she's used to death and she thinks " some undertakers just dont take enough care granny"
Shes some girl, makes me smile every day

paddyanne54, your granddaughter sounds incredibly bright! And caring too. Her diagnosis was spot on, then.

Callistemon21, I don’t know about that, she wanted to cut off part of the dog’s nose!
sodapop, she wants to be someone famous when she grows up, doesn’t care about details as long as she’s famous.

It could save his life AussieGran 🙂

It reminds me of one DGD'S joke when she was about 3 or 4:
"My dog's got no nose"
"How does he smell?" 😲
"Awful!!"
