Thought this was very true!

Spot on!

I do feel there can be all the seasons in one day. I can step out early morning and it's very cold a few hours later the sun is out and I'm too hot in all my layers then the rain and wind arrive.

I’m reminded of the old Flanders and Swann song.

Something about ‘…April showers, on and on for hours and hours’,
not to mention,
‘In July the sun is hot!
Is it shining - no it’s not!’

Must look it up on YouTube.🙂

Do you remember Chaucer describing how " April with its showers sweet, the drought of March pierces to the root"?
Drought- what drought? We've had rain in March, in February, in January....several local fields are now little lakes. Maybe farmers could diversify into pedalo hire.

Surely we are in Mud Season?
And what about Hosepipe Ban Season which occurs after two weeks of sun!

lizzypopbottle Fri 29-Mar-24 13:56:25

'Mud season' should be every other one!

Nvella Fri 29-Mar-24 14:27:37

All I want is not to have to wash the dog’s legs and then wash the bath twice a day every day!!

Guntew183 Fri 29-Mar-24 15:09:03

I had to check in case I was wrong, clocks alter 31st March.

rowyn Fri 29-Mar-24 15:11:21

Salti, either you're in a different country or in the wrong year!. I was taken aback when I read your post, having completely forgotten that it's that time of year for messing about with clocks.
So I checked online and discovered this

The clocks next go forward by one hour at 1am on 31 March 2024. The clocks next turn back by one hour at 2am on 27 October 2024.

So I have another day to readjust my brain, thank goodness!

Salti Fri 29-Mar-24 15:53:38

Same country. Old sign....my brain on a go slow!

I think if we accept climate change is on the way then having more rain is better than less (drought). I am expecting we may have a heat wave early on like last year. Of course, we are not prepared like other nations for extreme changes in weather. Us oldies will be thinking of offspring who will have to cope with it all (and likely unprepared).
