These are outside my experience - am I the only one? I have been watching a TV show which I love (Frankie & Grace Netflix) where the main characters develop a vibrator for older women with arthritic hands. It got me thinking am I the odd one out? I have never even tried one for no particular reason just haven't.

It's called multi-tasking vampirequeen
wink

vampirequeen Wed 07-Jun-17 20:54:18

Just goes to show that we grannies don't all sit around knitting a certain breakfast cereal grin

Peaseblossom Wed 07-Jun-17 12:09:50

Daisyboots. Why don't you email them and ask about the battery compartment? It would be a great pity for it to go to waste! winkgrin

DanniRae Wed 07-Jun-17 08:32:38

Well Gransnet just got sassy - eh? grin

I agree this kind of thread could end up as a news article - the DM uses this kind of thing every day. Mind you, it's usually Mumsnet they select. wink

Ive had one for years and wouldn't be without it. Especially as now my husband of only ten years has been rendered impotent and we haven't made love for two years. Of course it doesn't replace the affection and closeness of the real thing but it does give amazing orgasms and keeps everything in working order!

Lynnieg Tue 06-Jun-17 13:38:11

Were they smiling Hilda? wink

HildaW Tue 06-Jun-17 13:33:34

Lynnieg.....so all those young ladies in the bus queue ...........??????

Christinefrance Tue 06-Jun-17 12:46:08

Yes I misread it at first Jalima, thought OMG that must be heavy grin

Lynnieg Tue 06-Jun-17 12:45:45

You can also get vibrators that connect wirelessly to your Apple iTunes account and vibrates to the music. You'd have to have a selective play list I imagine grin

Jalima1108 Tue 06-Jun-17 10:37:52

It wasn't particularly good, it was a solid plastic gold one with no shape to it

I misread that as a 'solid gold one' thinking that could a) be a bit cold b) could be worth an absolute fortune!!
What kind of lifestyle do you have Peaseblossom?
Then I read it again grin

harrigran Tue 06-Jun-17 10:15:19

No, I am positive they would not reveal your name but can you imagine the article in the newspaper ? They may cherry pick odd quotes which could be recognised, especially the story about the plumber and the vibrator in the kitchen.

Would said journalists divulge our real identities? I have often wondered if it's a coincidence that a thread I've read on G.N suddenly appears as an article in a newspaper or magazine

harrigran Tue 06-Jun-17 09:14:30

Just a reminder to those divulging secrets, you could end up in a newspaper article as at least one at HQ is a journalist.

This thread is a joy I'm glad I started it and I'm glad so many people are having fun with their sex life. As I said its outside my experience although we are baby boomers and e thought part of the sexual revolution we are quite conventional but regular participants so that's Ok for us. I think I will stay as we are (but still fantasise about Jeremy Paxman).

joannewton46 I've heard about the shower head too, but it doesn't do it for me. grin

annsixty I would not talk about this with my real life friends. Well, maybe I would if they started the conversation.

When I was younger went to a couple of Anne Summers party through work and they were a bit of fun, but I was too bashful then. About 15 years ago an Anne Summers shop opened in a town near me and when my Mum was down staying with us, we went in to have a look. We were so self conscious like naughty school girls, but the shop was a surprise. The front of the shop had lovely lingerie, with the more risque further in. The 'rude' things were in a separate area and we had a great giggle checking it all out (we'd never, ever discussed any like this before BTW). She bought a pair of handcuffs to prove to my Step-Dad she'd been in the shop! If you like pretty underwear, Anne Summers is supposed to be good quality.

I think Ann Summer parties were after my time. It was Tupperware or pottery parties in my day ?

joannapiano Mon 05-Jun-17 19:34:08

I have had one for years. My only fear is that DH and I
die suddenly together, and it is found when our children clear the house out!
(I worry about stupid things a lot!)

Christinefrance Mon 05-Jun-17 19:29:12

It's good to add a bit of fun and spice sometimes annsixty, did you never go to Ann Summers party ?

annsixty Mon 05-Jun-17 18:59:29

My flabber has been well and truly gasted. I have never heard of anyone using a vibrator or admitting to owning one. I have lived a very sheltered life. Can only say thankyou all for being so open and honest and enlightening me and lots of others.

joannewton46 Mon 05-Jun-17 18:47:31

My husband bought me one for when he was away on business and enjoyed watching me use it occasionally when he was at home - part of the "warm up". Our sex life has slowed now we're in our 70s but I still use it occasionally.
I'm told angling the shower head appropriately is also very pleasurable...

This thread has opened my eyes too - I had heard about vibrators (Sex and the City) but no more than that. How do you all find the time?
Reminds me of a joke - one Granny to another - "My Dil is expecting twins - they say the chances are One in 100".
Long contemplative pause.
Other Granny's reply comes "But how did they find the time?".

Smurf44 Mon 05-Jun-17 14:38:47

Noooo! Really? I didn't know Amazon had an Adult section either! Must check it out when I have a moment!

I find Lovehoney have some good bargain vibrators at times and they arrive in a discreet, plain brown package! I bought my first at 60++ but partner of 20+ years was NOT impressed when I asked him to help me open it to install batteries - he rarely stays overnight now! But my purchase is great - it never snores, has a headache/backache or says NO, NOT tonight! Wish I had bought one years ago!!!! wink

I do love discussions on here!!

I have a vibrator that looks like a lipstick. i got it from Ann Summers.

www.annsummers.com/sex-toys/help-advice/beginners-guide-to-vibrators.html

I actually bought 3 the same as with the permission of my surgeon I took it to my second cataract operation to hold in my hand to act as a distractor when I had to stare at the bright light.

after the op he said you won't need that now and held out his hand so I gave it to him and said perhaps he would like to tell his students what a wonderful distractor it had been.

I am going alone on holiday for 53 days may take it with me. The spare one is in a box where I keep a humorous after dinner speech I once made on giving sexual advice as an NHS professional.

DanniRae Mon 05-Jun-17 09:32:47

OMG went to have a look at Amazon Adult Section - only managed page 1 - NOOOOOOOOOOo!! not for me!!!!!!!!!! shock and confused
