These are outside my experience - am I the only one? I have been watching a TV show which I love (Frankie & Grace Netflix) where the main characters develop a vibrator for older women with arthritic hands. It got me thinking am I the odd one out? I have never even tried one for no particular reason just haven't.

I just think how embarrassing it would be for my relatives if it was found after my death. So no I don't have one.

You would love having fun with it with your partner, introduce him slowly to it and see the reaction you will both have. I have used one for years both with or without my late husband. Great fun and no different to other sex aids, that IMO all have a place in a healthy sex life.

I know it has been explained on page 2, but I wonder if I was the only gransnetter who was typing ground up wasp nest into Google by half way down page 1!

I have had a vibrator for least 15 years. My partner at the time bought it for me. It wasn't particularly good, it was a solid plastic gold one with no shape to it. I was in a long-term relationship with someone who bought a more realistic vibrator and we had a brilliant sex life with or without it. By the way it wasn't my idea that they bought them, they surprised me! It definitely makes your sex life more interesting! I've been on my own for four years now, apart from a few dates and I'm not in a relationship and I bought one on the Internet from Anne Summers. The rampant rabbit variety! grin I think it would be better if it was a more realistic colour. It's vivid pink. shock I use it quite frequently, but not every day! Ha ha! It's definitely no substitute for the real thing and to be honest I'm fed up with being on my own and often feel depressed and lonely. I'm on various dating sites but haven't really met any men I like, they're either too young, too far away, or I don't fancy them. I sometimes lie in bed thinking what if I popped my clogs in the night and then my daughters found it when they had to clear my house out?!

A long time ago, pre Facebook thank heaven, friends of mine went on holiday leaving their late teenage children at home. The youngsters had friends over for the weekend and offered them a bed for the night. Their parents' bed. They did the right thing and changed the bedding and in so doing found a whip and handcuffs under a pillow. The news spread like wildfire around the friends of the teens and then to their parents and wider afield, amusement fuelled by the knowledge that one owner of said whip and handcuffs was training to be a C of E curate.
Soon after that I was going to be abroad for a month and that was when I disposed of my vibrator.

When your children find them after you die, won't they be pleased to think you were still having fun up to the last?

At our last family party 2 of my grandchildren (6 & 12) went upstairs (to bounce on the bed I suspect). I was joking that I was just waiting for them to come down with my vibrator asking what it was for. We all thought this very funny - I must admit a fair amount of alcohol had been consumed by that time!

WilmaKnickersfit Sat 03-Jun-17 14:52:51

I've had them done I was in my 20s, but just for external 'private' use. blush. When I became ill I got rid of my bag with my collection in case I died and someone like my Mum found them! shockgrin

Now I use an old electric toothbrush which looks quite innocent. I heard about using one after watching an episode of The Big Bang Theory! grin

Keep the stories coming! Ooooops! Now why did that word come in to my head! grin

Alima Sat 03-Jun-17 15:03:24

No need to ask what you have been doing all this time Wilma! Not seen you on here for ages.

HildaW Sat 03-Jun-17 15:17:42

Aha! Someone else learning stuff from The Big Bang Theory! My fav programme!

This has reminded me that I've got a neat little one in the sideboard somewhere. Honestly ages ago my DH ordered a couple of things on Amazon.....and they did that thing of putting something quite small inside a much bigger box....well there was this extra third parcel inside and we opened it to find a very neat little thingy. We just looked at each other and in perfect synchronicity said....'Well I didn't order that'. Any way its still in the sideboard and will stay there gathering dust! We were too embarrassed to phone up and query the order!

Perdita33 Sat 03-Jun-17 16:01:03

I couldn't live without my vibrator! Since the menopause I've become less sensitive and it really does the trick. I have a husband, we use the vibrator together

ExaltedWombat Sat 03-Jun-17 16:03:07

Can't you girls do ANYTHING by hand?

hildajenniJ Sat 03-Jun-17 16:17:15

I used to have one, but list it during a house move blush. I'd love another, but can't justify the expense.

Luckygirl Sat 03-Jun-17 16:41:35

vampirequeen - "The Plumber and the Rabbit" - very Beatrix Potter. grin

HildaW Sat 03-Jun-17 16:57:13

SparklyGrandma Sat 03-Jun-17 17:22:50

vampirequeen Sat 03-Jun-17 17:51:12

Cherrytree59 Sat 03-Jun-17 17:56:46

He was a great favourite in our house

Back to the
#The good vibrations# ladies wink

I have bought loads of them over the years and tend to prefer the more expensive rechargeable ones. The ones in Ann Summers are quite basic by comparison.
My husband has no drive since having chemo and I much prefer using a quality vibrator over a man anyday as it's completely under your control. Happy Days (and nights)! wink

Esspee Sat 03-Jun-17 19:02:06

Thank goodness for threads like this. I was beginning to despair of Gransnet.

WilmaKnickersfit Sat 03-Jun-17 19:28:11

Alima guilty as charged! grin

minxie Sat 03-Jun-17 19:57:13

This is when you need a like button, so funny. Using a vibrator with your partner can be great fun
