These are outside my experience - am I the only one? I have been watching a TV show which I love (Frankie & Grace Netflix) where the main characters develop a vibrator for older women with arthritic hands. It got me thinking am I the odd one out? I have never even tried one for no particular reason just haven't.

A work college once offered her redundant Rampant Rabbit to another college, explaining the she no longer needed it as her new bloke was very good with his hands. Needless to say the offer was declined. Yuk

Whatever floats your boat !! Yes, we have one, don't use it all the time, but it can add a certain something!!
I also subscribe to GH and their 'vibrator' testing (and they've done it more than once!) is always enlightening! The only thing that would put me off buying another one is that they are so expensive! Perhaps we should be campaigning for a low 'sex tax' for our aging population !!

I always wondered what that thing i found under the bed was. But it is brilliant at bringing the worms in the lawn to the surface when I want to go fishing.

I haven't laughed so much in a long time. I'm going to google 'dolphin' and see what comes up!

Thank you for such a funny thread. I have certainly been laughing a lot this weekend.
I believe there is a vibrator head made to fit one of the brands of electric toothbrushes. So you don't need to worry about bristles. ;)
I bought a vibrator from LaRedoute about 3 years ago but it is still in it's box as I can't fathom how to open it to put the batteries in.

Talking of electric toothbrushes, we've also got a tooth jetter - squirts water around your............no, that's too naughty, better delete.......too late...

Stella14 Sun 04-Jun-17 18:40:47

Yes, manual toothbrushes are okay but you have to be quite dexterous grin

I do hope your suggestion doesn't catch on! My dog's name is Buzz

Ha ha! Could be awkward!

I for one will never be able to watch the Oral B adverts with a straight face again - "I asked my dentist which is better, manual or electric. She said 'Definitely electric, get the one with the round head'"
DH is wondering why I'm choking on my sherry!

I bought my latest, and my best, when on holiday in America from Brookstone. It is actually a neck massager. They are more powerful when turned up (they have about 5 levels). I learned that these are used as vibrators by the discerning from an episode of Sex and the City. Samantha was advising serveral women in the shop on the best one for their needs! They are available in the UK too. Amazon or lovehoney.com where there are reviews for the purpose we are referring to here. I prefer a rechargeable model!

I take it holiday for a bit of fun together with my beloved hubby. I was flying via Dubai last time and staying there for a couple of days. It was in my handluggage as, being wireless, I didn't want it switching on and buzzing in my suitcase ? I was stopped for a check and the border guard, a woman in a full black burqa asked me what it was. With a completely straight face, I replied "it's a neck massager". Her English was clearly basic and she didn't understand. I mimed using a wand type thing on my neck. She still didn't get it, so called over her male supervisor. We went through the same scenario. He looked at me, at the 'vibrator', then back at me, took a moment, then nodded to his colleague and we went through. I have no idea if hubby was struggling with his face during this interaction, but I expect so! It interesting that the London shop Lovehoney said, in a TV show that they often have devout Muslim women in full burqas shopping in the shop. And why not of course, but I did suspect that at least the man at
Dubai airport had a good idea what my 'massager' was for!

Willow I thought about a pact like that and decided against it because I am pretty sure my Mum would get there first. Seriously though, now I'm older I think she would be discrete and keep her thoughts to herself.

You're welcome FarNorth,I learn something new myself most days! grin

BTW I do change the head regularly! winkgrin

Morgana Sun 04-Jun-17 13:44:49

What a brilliant thread! Thank you everyone

How funny are some of these stories!! Had a lot over the last 40 odd years too. The first one went off in the wooden bedside cabinet in the middle of the night once making such a racket and terrifying the pair of us till we realised what it was! So far I've not left it out for the plumber to find but I do have a pact with my sister in law that if anything happens to me she has to empty my bedside drawers before anyone else gets in there grin

Thanks for that handy hint WilmaK. You've cheered up my Sunday morning. grin grin

Never thought about it, and I don't think I'll bother at my age! Lol. I do remember being in the staff canteen when I worked at the hospital, and a lady behind the serving counter suddenly announced, in a very loud voice, ' Has anyone in here lost a vibrator?' There was a stunned silence, then everyone burst out laughing, and one of the cleaners felt in her pocket, and then shouted 'Oh God, yes, its mine.' She collected it, then walked out with her face the colour of beetroot.certainly made the day for everyone in the canteen.

Now I understand why the young assistants smirked at each other when I was enquiring about electric toothbrushes at Boots!

Re names for female masturbation, in a recent " comedy" on BBC , Miriam Margolyes (sp) asked her D "if she was searching for the squirrel".

Re the elctric toothbrush - I used to use one in the days when you could only buy battery driven vibrators - the batteries used to run out at the wrong moment! I could leave the toothbrush plugged in by the bed. The trick was to use the back of the brush.

I hasten to add the toothbrush was no longer in use as a toothbrush at the time!
