These are outside my experience - am I the only one? I have been watching a TV show which I love (Frankie & Grace Netflix) where the main characters develop a vibrator for older women with arthritic hands. It got me thinking am I the odd one out? I have never even tried one for no particular reason just haven't.

I highly recommend them! I have enjoyed one as a nice side since I was a young woman. I know find in my relatively new marriage (18 months), since neither of us are 'are as young as we were' it can sometimes be useful used on both of us to liven things-up!

Love this thread...made me laugh out loud!!!?

Someone mentioned further up the thread that Good Housekeeping magazine have some reviews in this month's edition. Well I am on the testing panel for GH and a couple of years ago tested vibrators for them. I get sent quite a few things to test. In this instance I think they must have been short of testers as they sent me three different ones to try. (It's a hard job, but someone's got to do it I suppose!)
I've used vibrators since I was in my 30s, sometimes with DH and sometimes on my own, it's the only way I can orgasm (so they made a massive difference to our sex life!
There are lots (and lots) of names for male masturbation, but what about female? I'm trying to popularise "buzz"wink

WilmaKnickersFit The mind boggles about the electric toothbrush. haven't got a clue how you'd use one of those. I'm sure the bristles must chafe something chronic! grin

Marvellous things - they never have to be 'in the mood', only need batteries ? And they help you sleep. What's not to love

Thebeeb Sat 03-Jun-17 20:13:55

Got a tip. Take the batteries out if in holiday luggage!

This is when you need a like button, so funny. Using a vibrator with your partner can be great fun

WilmaKnickersfit Sat 03-Jun-17 19:28:11

Alima guilty as charged! grin

Thank goodness for threads like this. I was beginning to despair of Gransnet.

I have bought loads of them over the years and tend to prefer the more expensive rechargeable ones. The ones in Ann Summers are quite basic by comparison.
My husband has no drive since having chemo and I much prefer using a quality vibrator over a man anyday as it's completely under your control. Happy Days (and nights)! wink

Thanks Ann I thought I was being very dim or a bit niave or both. blush

Yes I do remember John candy film.
He was a great favourite in our house

HildaW Sat 03-Jun-17 16:57:13

............lost it during the house move!..................is there a removal man somewhere having fun?

Luckygirl Sat 03-Jun-17 16:41:35

vampirequeen - "The Plumber and the Rabbit" - very Beatrix Potter. grin

hildajenniJ Sat 03-Jun-17 16:17:15

I used to have one, but list it during a house move blush. I'd love another, but can't justify the expense.

ExaltedWombat Sat 03-Jun-17 16:03:07

Can't you girls do ANYTHING by hand?

Perdita33 Sat 03-Jun-17 16:01:03

I couldn't live without my vibrator! Since the menopause I've become less sensitive and it really does the trick. I have a husband, we use the vibrator together

What a great thread you have cheered me up . Never had one myself that's a good one nelliemags and wilma ???

HildaW Sat 03-Jun-17 15:17:42

Aha! Someone else learning stuff from The Big Bang Theory! My fav programme!

This has reminded me that I've got a neat little one in the sideboard somewhere. Honestly ages ago my DH ordered a couple of things on Amazon.....and they did that thing of putting something quite small inside a much bigger box....well there was this extra third parcel inside and we opened it to find a very neat little thingy. We just looked at each other and in perfect synchronicity said....'Well I didn't order that'. Any way its still in the sideboard and will stay there gathering dust! We were too embarrassed to phone up and query the order!

Alima Sat 03-Jun-17 15:03:24

No need to ask what you have been doing all this time Wilma! Not seen you on here for ages.

WilmaKnickersfit Sat 03-Jun-17 14:52:51

I've had them done I was in my 20s, but just for external 'private' use. blush. When I became ill I got rid of my bag with my collection in case I died and someone like my Mum found them! shockgrin

Now I use an old electric toothbrush which looks quite innocent. I heard about using one after watching an episode of The Big Bang Theory! grin

Keep the stories coming! Ooooops! Now why did that word come in to my head! grin

henbane Sat 03-Jun-17 14:50:12

When your children find them after you die, won't they be pleased to think you were still having fun up to the last?

At our last family party 2 of my grandchildren (6 & 12) went upstairs (to bounce on the bed I suspect). I was joking that I was just waiting for them to come down with my vibrator asking what it was for. We all thought this very funny - I must admit a fair amount of alcohol had been consumed by that time!

A long time ago, pre Facebook thank heaven, friends of mine went on holiday leaving their late teenage children at home. The youngsters had friends over for the weekend and offered them a bed for the night. Their parents' bed. They did the right thing and changed the bedding and in so doing found a whip and handcuffs under a pillow. The news spread like wildfire around the friends of the teens and then to their parents and wider afield, amusement fuelled by the knowledge that one owner of said whip and handcuffs was training to be a C of E curate.
Soon after that I was going to be abroad for a month and that was when I disposed of my vibrator.
