Thank you for the Mad about Monkeys book. We had just fetched our two granddaughters to our house for the weekend and the eldest found the parcel on the doorstep when we arrived. She was obviously delighted to find the book inside and is now in bed enjoying the book.

Excellent timing!

Thank you Gransnet for the lovely book, Mad about Monkeys. I originally tried for it thinking my monkey mad grandson would enjoy it but wonder now if, at 6, he is a bit young for it yet. I think if I sit and read it with him he will be fine. His 8 year old sister is an avid reader so may well enjoy the book herself and help him with it. They are on holiday at the moment so I am unable to ask them to review it at the moment.

joannapiano had a good idea of donating the book to school when the grandchildren have read it.

Thank you, Gransnet, for the lovely hardback book, Mad About Monkeys.
Interesting facts and illustrations.
I think it would be really useful for over 9's, when doing a project on rain forests, primates etc. Some of the words used, such as 'characteristics', 'arboreal' and 'hierarchy', may be a bit tough for younger children.
I intend to donate it to our DGC's village school library so that lots of children can make use of it.

Thank you Gransnet.
I won a two night stay in a London apartment, and we have just returned. The apartment was in the old East End of London, in the middle of a--building site--,sorry, regeneration project. Actually the accommodation was very comfortable, lounge, dining room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. All very well equipped, but so HOT. We could open windows, just, but there was no working extractor fan in the bathroom, or air conditioning, and it made me feel quite unwell. We had chosen to go on Thursday 6th August, guess what, the undeground train staff decided to go on strike. Thank heavens for the extra buses, but not so good when DH left the bus route print out at home. Spent quite a busy day on Friday, buses, boats, cable car trip etc. Legs tired and arthriticky knees complaining of extra curricular activities. Were going to meet up with granddaughter and husband on Saturday before coming home, but couldn't summon up the energy. On the train home, lots of dressed up commuters with pick ics, on their way to Ascot racing and concert. Felt quite underdressed, but nice to people watch. And, the lovely weather was a bonus.
Thanks again Gransnet for my very surprise win. We are tired, but wouldn't have missed the treat for anything, and it's nice to be home.
