Least romantic gift my husband brought me was a washboard so I could take part in his skiffle band the 6-5 specials.but I don,t mind as I,ve enjoyed scraping out a beat on it and adding hooters, bells, etc to it.i even took it on 'deal or no deal' when I played my game last year.so every cloud and all that.pam davies

About 25 years ago my husband bought me an epilator because one day I'd made a throwaway remark about hating shaving my legs. It was state of the art technology for the time but agony to use. I battled on with it a couple of times and when he asked how I was enjoying using it, suggested we have a go on his legs.... I've been using disposable razors ever since!

It was a large box, beautifully wrapped, (my husband always gets my daughter to wrap for him ).I was so excited to see what it could possibly be,I eagerly ripped of the ribbons and wrapping paper and found.....a paper shredder !As he pointed out,it WAS an electric one not one that you had to turn a handle.Disappointed doesn't even come close, however, that never happened again,my daughters saw to that x

When first married for Valentine's Day I received a Vyleda mop and bucket. My husband pointed out it was red to match our kitchen. I suppose it was an appropriate Valentine colour!

On our 25th anniversary, my husband gave me a small box of Roses. He had bought two because the 2nd one was half price. He kept the other!

One Valentine's present from my DH was a pair of wellyboots! They weren't even pink and trendy but boring blue. Oddly enough, I loved them and had great fun jumping in puddles and finding my inner child.

The only time I received a Valentines gift, was when I was in hospital & the nurses shamed my husband into it.

After 43 years of marriage we do not bother much with presents for each other. We prefer to give presents to our grandchildren, as that gives us lots of pleasure.

Having said that my husband found a box of Quality Street which we had forgotton about & so I have laid my claim to it. Also we are going out to a posh hotel tomorrow for a Sunday lunch.
