My Granddaughter asked me if I had eyes in the back of my head when I was able to tell her what she was doing even though I was looking out of the kitchen window while doing the dishes.

It brought back happy memories of her Mum asking the same question as a youngster. She was quietly poking her sister at the time and I was remonstrating with her.

It was nice to be seen as having "super powers" even if only for a short while.

My GS was at home from school poorly. He asked me 'Do you know what I learnt today?' I replied 'No' to which he answered 'I learnt that when I have a tummy upset it is not a good idea to fart'! The washing machine was chugging away in the background!

My son broke his ankle with a fall. His brother asked if he would have to have his leg off! I said light-heartedly "I don't think so" He paused a while and said: "When he has his leg off, can I have the top bunk?"

Talking about Tiger in a Tutu and 5yr old DGS thought we would win a real tiger in a tutu. Said that wouldn't be very good because tigers eat meat, and therefore might eat him. "No grandma, he would eat you because you're bigger than me!" Then proceeded to lost every other member of the family, including his 10month baby sister, that would be eaten before him.

When my DD was expecting her second baby, her first child said to her "will the baby be dressed when it comes out?" - the mind boggles!

My grandson had been bitten and had some spots and his cheeks was a little dry too. So when he hurts he said he has bou bou. I have a black spot on the back of mt hand and on my cheeks, he said I got bou bou as well and he will blow and kiss it better for me. I could explain as he felt sad because he thinks I am hurting too. X

GD, 5, asked me if I loved the blouse I was wearing. I replied that I quite liked it.
Her reply,"well I don't!"

Whilst laying in my hospital bed, my seven-year-old GD came to visit me. She looked at me, then whispered to her mother who then collapsed laughing.

When she could speak again, my daughter explained that my GD had asked that if I died, could she please have my new hat (a natty new straw number that she knew I'd bought for my holiday!)!

An "honorary" granddaughter asked me "Why is Grandpa having pierced ears?" (He was going to see a company called Perseus).

(I hope my entry is valid, because I am a granny, but my one and only grandson hasn't quite got to the stage of asking questions yet!)

Morgie52 Tue 02-Aug-16 10:59:21

My granddaughter asked me "Grandma what do you want to be when you grow-up?"

I have just read many of these messages to my DH. Tears of laughter for many minutes. Thank you all. My DGD is only 8 months so watch this space.

After an accident on holiday when I mistook the grill for the oven and incinerated some pasties, setting off the smoke alarm in our cottage, GS kept asking me, "Why did you set fire to the pasties Granny?" Something which reduced his dad and his uncles to tears of laughter. Oh dear another child traumatized.

jackiemc24 Sun 31-Jul-16 14:02:51

From George, aged four, 'Granny how do you get alive?'. Oh dear!

Gaggi3 Fri 29-Jul-16 16:39:11

DGS to DD "Why is it that a much older man(DH) can swim, and a much younger woman(me!) can't?" I was thrilled - there's 18 months between us.

cathisherwood Fri 29-Jul-16 13:44:11

My granddaughter wanted to know why frogs were coming to her aunties wedding. It turned out she had heard us discussing bridemaids frocks and frocks wasn't a word in her vocabulary at that time
