I hate all gardening jobs but I also hate the garden to look untidy. I have to talk myself into tackling most jobs and then , instead of the intended half hours weeding, I end up doing two hours and can't walk the next day!
Weeding is my big pet hate. I have to do it though. I grow most of my own veg, and have a big garden so it makes it worth it when I get a load of free veg.
I hate picking up all the leaves which seem to be mostly in our garden from our neighbours trees. We have already worn out one garden vac so I'm doing it by hand at the moment & it's endless.
Clearing the clippings from the shrubs and bushes at the front of the house as the ground is covered in shingle and I land up with more shingle than clippings in the bin
The only weed I have is ground elder. I have to get rid of that otherwise it takes over. Not enough of it to be covered with carpet, but enough to annoy. However, all the rest of the weeds are wild flowers and necessary for the bees.
Weeding wins this one every time. Even with a hoe I was finding it tough on my back, and using a kneeler earlier this year I did something to my toe and set off a bout of gout. Can't we train slugs to eat weeds? It's about time the little blighters did something useful.
Weeding the patio! It's never ending, no sooner do you finish it, you have the little blighters appearing again through the cracks! Also I hate having to control the various pests such as slugs!
I dislike thinning the veg patch....I don't like to waste anything so leave them and end up with misshapen weird carrots, parsnips that haven't got room to grow, beetroot desperately trying to swell but with no room etc. When will I learn!!
