My favourite thing about summer is that wearing a maxi dress and flip flops feels just as comfy as wearing a nightdress and slippers - especially when I don't put underwear on.

My least favourite thing about summer is that in order to wear said flip flops, it seems I have developed the need to shave my big toes now I am over 40.

Ah well, you win some you lose some.

Tigerlily13 Tue 03-Jul-18 13:03:41

Oops - that should say biting insects! ?

Tigerlily13 Tue 03-Jul-18 13:03:00

My favourite thing about summer isn’t that we can spend so much time in the garden. Life is easier when the kids can play outside without then trailing mud all through my house! My least favourite thing is that boring insects LOVE me ?

wallers5 Tue 03-Jul-18 12:37:59

Long evenings in the garden with an iced Gin & tonic & lime.

redrosemummy Tue 03-Jul-18 11:03:24

My favourite thing is watching the children playing in the garden - so much fun with a paddling pool, sand pit and their outdoor toys!
My least favourite thing is the current moorland fires our home area is struggling with.

Pinkmegamog Tue 03-Jul-18 03:39:07

Favourite - 6 weeks of doing all the things on my list - like reading! Bliss!
Least favourite - when it’s not ‘summertime’ weather!

clairebybear Tue 03-Jul-18 01:54:00

I love that people seem genuinely happier when the sun's out. I love the long nights, and spending time with my friends and family.

I hate that I sweat so much I basically look like a drowned rat most of the time, and like now, during a heatwave I have no pool to swim in.

FoxInABox Mon 02-Jul-18 22:08:34

The best thing is the lovely lie ins with no school runs, and the worst thing is the amount of money it costs in days out etc!

Retired65 Mon 02-Jul-18 21:15:03

In the summer, I love the lighter and brighter days and not having to worry about clearing off the ice off the car in the mornings. I don't like it when it gets very hot and suffering with hay fever.

elbee55 Mon 02-Jul-18 20:30:59

I love summer - my favourite season, there really isn't much not to love about it.
My favourite thing is spending time outdoors and wearing clothes I hardly ever get to wear!
The downside is having to smother heaps of sticky sun cream all over me - though I have to admit, I love the smell! wink

minicat79 Mon 02-Jul-18 20:23:44

I love days out strawberry picking with the kids, kite flying or going on holiday and having cream teas together!

My least favourite thing is everyone in the house complaining at nighttime when it’s too hot and everyone is over tired.

Shellseeking Mon 02-Jul-18 20:17:23

I love looking for shells (hence the username).

I hate wasps and open toed shoes equally.

Kat38 Mon 02-Jul-18 19:28:56

I really hate feeling sticky and sweaty, but I love paddling in the sea at the end of a sunny day. The beach is quiet, it’s not so hot and the views are perfect.

IreadthereforeIam Mon 02-Jul-18 16:05:01

My most favourite thing about summer is the long summer holiday where I get to spend more time with my children.
My least favourite thing is having to go to work when it’s really hot (I work in a portacabin - which is code for ‘an oven’!!)

trisher Mon 02-Jul-18 15:35:04

Most favourite thing-bright summer clothes in lovely loose linen.
Least favourite-ironing the B... things (Can you tell I've just spent over an hour doing this!!!!)

snowyboots Mon 02-Jul-18 14:40:49

Favourite thing has to be able to wear shorts and t shirts especially after the last winter which went on for soooo long.
Hate , thunder bugs/flies living in the country side these little blighters also known as smoother flies get everywhere as they are so small, even the cat hates them.

Cathcath Mon 02-Jul-18 14:37:49

Favourite thing: spending time with the kids once the schools finish, days out with the children, a break from responsibilities and routines of school and after school activities
Worst thing: disappointing miserable weather (maybe this year will be different).

crusosa Mon 02-Jul-18 14:07:15

The best thing is to enjoy the sun and any outdoor activity. The worst is not to have the chance to do it due to work or other demands.

Lewsam74 Mon 02-Jul-18 13:27:42

My favourite thing about summer is warm evenings, sitting outside in the garden watching the birds and all the flowers.
The worst thing about summer is the insects ?

Jill2Gillian Mon 02-Jul-18 07:37:06

I love wearing flip flops and less layers of clouthes, I don't like the hot nights, its hard to sleep

faywheeler Sun 01-Jul-18 20:43:18

Favourite thing: Strawberries
Least favourite thing: Wasps

jocork Sun 01-Jul-18 19:31:14

I struggle with the heat so a heatwave like we are experiencing now is my least favourite thing about summer, especially when I have to work in stuffy classrooms and long to be in an air-conditioned computer room.
The best thing though is 6 weeks of holidays although they always fly by with 2 weeks of volunteering then trying to catch up with everything I failed to do earlier in the year including appointments with doctors and dentists that are hard to fit into term time schedules. Before I know it I'll be back at school and wondering where it all went!

techywife Sun 01-Jul-18 17:07:33

My favourite thing about Summer is the Wimbledon fortnight! I absolutely love everything about it, especially the opening music on the first day! So therefore my least favourite is housework, and any other chores and duties that keep me from the tennis. That makes me grumpy smile

Max11 Sun 01-Jul-18 16:18:48

Favourite thing is the bright long warm days.. Lovely

Least fave, those midges, they think I am a moveable feast.

ladycatlover Sun 01-Jul-18 15:32:02

My favourite thing about summer is sitting on the deck outside our caravan on a warm evening, watching Snowdon slow darken and disappear into the gloaming when the sun goes down, while enjoying a cooling Gin and Tonic.

My least favourite thing is the bitey and stingey insects as I seem to be allergic to their bites and stings.
