Best thing: the smell of honeysuckle. The worst: being bitten by midges.

pipdog Mon 18-Jun-18 21:10:09

I love having the door open all day so the dogs can wander in and out as they please as usually they ask to go out as I settle down with a coffee.
My least favourite is that the midges come and start biting before I am ready to go inside.

Sunshine, and lots of it. Hours spent relaxing in the garden, with family is my favourite thing to do.

Gnats, and wasps irritate. Caterpillars, slugs and snails that scoff the flowers trying to bloom, are (wait for it) bug bears of mine!

Overall, Summertime is Funtime!

shirleyhick Mon 18-Jun-18 20:31:41

Best favourite thing light mornings and hearing the birds singing on our morning dog walk.
Least favourite thing is the thunder storms when the weather has been to hot.

barbaraellen Mon 18-Jun-18 20:30:29

Favourite thing:
Eating meals and having a cuppa outside in the garden is wonderful,
Least favourite thing : the dreaded hayfever.

Lovelykins47 Mon 18-Jun-18 20:00:25

Favourite is long sunny days, but I hate the hot nights when opening a window seems to make things worse.

Elizabeth180 Mon 18-Jun-18 19:56:43

The best things about summer are warm days spent working in the garden and the sight of washing blowing on the line. The worst thing is the flies which enter the house through the open doors.

Neilspurgeon0 Mon 18-Jun-18 19:45:04

Best thing about summer is unquestionably free concerts on the sea front every weekend and music festivals. Worst thing is that the children have l-o-n-g summer holidays, get bored and Granny and GrandDad have to try and keep them amused for the periods that parents are unable to get leave during the kids school hols. My children try their best but none of them get anything like six weeks holiday to be with their children.

I love sitting out in my garden early in the morning with my first cup of tea of the day, listening to the birds sing and feeling the sun on my face sunshine

I hate nightimes when it's far too warm and stuffy to sleep.

flewine Mon 18-Jun-18 19:15:03

I have m.e. so the warmer weather of summer makes me feel so much better. This is my grandsons first year of school so looking forward to spending time with him in the summer hols,

Not having to wear coats listening to children playing .
Increase in creepy crawlers and wasps ??

Jacaranda Mon 18-Jun-18 19:08:34

I love going bare legged and wearing lighter summer clothes. I hate the unpredictability of the English weather.

grannysmith953 Mon 18-Jun-18 19:04:23

Favourite thing. Not having to wear layer upon layer of clothes!
Least favourite. Flies - I have a wonderful plastic gun to shoot them with, makes a mess of the windows though ?

ginamat Mon 18-Jun-18 18:55:41

I love the hot weather but don't like having to work so hard in the garden.

kaybomba Mon 18-Jun-18 18:51:20

My favourite thing about summer is being able to eat a dish full of delicious fresh fruit every day

My least favourite is the number of outfits I usually try on and discard before I step out of the house. In winter I just put my coat on and off I go!

FranT Mon 18-Jun-18 18:44:44

Everyone seems more cheerful and sociable when the sun is out, plus I can read outside instead of inside, worst bit is when the sun shines on your windows and on the dust, but hey ho it looks the same after a week or a fortnight, now then...back to that book! (smile)

CassieJ Mon 18-Jun-18 18:36:59

Favourite is spending time with family in the sun.
Least favourite is having to go back to work at the end of summer

welshmaiden Mon 18-Jun-18 18:35:05

best thing about summer - sitting in the garden with a pimms and a good book.
worst thing - hayfever so that you can't sit out!

Lewie Mon 18-Jun-18 18:26:45

I love the summer, and I love enjoying warm, lazy evenings in our beautiful garden, enjoying the smell of the intoxicating honeysuckle.
Watching baby birds take their first flight.

I hate the fact that summer is all too short!
"And summer’s lease hath all too short a date." (Sonnet 18)

Freemind Mon 18-Jun-18 18:14:12

Favourite thing - sitting out early in the morning for a first cup of tea.
I hate all the insects that want to drown themselves in my drinks!

Sandrajoy Mon 18-Jun-18 18:11:26

My favourite thing would be my trip to the Lake District every summer. The only think I dislike is working in a very hot office

Rapunzel100 Mon 18-Jun-18 18:10:31

Luxuriating in the warmth of the sun - best

Wasps - worst.

spaghetti Mon 18-Jun-18 18:10:03

My favourite thing is the long days.
My least favourite is heatwave days when working!

Lorelei Mon 18-Jun-18 17:55:52

Lazing in my hammock with a good book to read or puzzle book, smelling the freshly cut grass, strawberries and flowers, and watching the garden wildlife. Summer is my favourite time of year with the only downside being that my better half constantly complains he is too hot or it is too humid! Fingers crossed for a haul of summer reading material now.

Lotie Mon 18-Jun-18 17:54:30

The best thing is the long days and light evenings. The worst is hay fever.
