The worse thing about summer is having all manner of insects buzzing round you if you try to eat outdoors. The best thing is the long hours of daylight and being able to go out without a coat on

FarawayGran Mon 18-Jun-18 17:13:06

The best thing about Summer is the days are long up here in Scotland, it is still light at 23:00.
The worst thing is the invasion of tiny midges that arrive as soon as we sit outside on a calm, windless day.

I love reading a good book in my hammock while sun is shining on me and hate being indoors at work when the weather is beautiful...

SueLindsey Mon 18-Jun-18 16:51:21

Best thing: Exploring parks with my gorgeous grandaughter
after a long wet winter.

Worst thing: wasps ruining our picnics.

NfkDumpling Mon 18-Jun-18 16:42:27

Best thing? Wearing fewer and lighter clothes so there’s hardly any washing to do. Second best thing: being able to just walk out of the door without a coat. Third best thing: No fires to sort out and less cleaning because of it. Fourth thing: Seeing more of the grandchildren. Fifth thing: Enjoying England which is wonderful when the sun shines. (I can go on!)

Worst thing? Summer is too short.

Mouse25 Mon 18-Jun-18 16:28:42

The best thing about summer is, I can get out and about with my camera photographing wildlife which I love to do.

I hate it when it's to hot, I'm not a sun worshiper.

Grannyjacq1 Mon 18-Jun-18 16:27:15

Least favourite thing about summer: flies and hayfever
Most favourite things about summer: being able to spend so much time outside. Not having to wear a coat.

greenfinger5 Mon 18-Jun-18 16:25:18

The best thing is hearing the birds chirping in the morning, the worst thing is the wasps and flies.

bookw7 Mon 18-Jun-18 16:11:13

My favourite thing about living in Scotland during summer is that at least the rain is warm! My least favourite thing is the flying devils, otherwise known as midgies.

Skynnylynny Mon 18-Jun-18 16:07:07

My favourite thing about summer is having family and friends come to visit me at the seaside, and my least favourite is being too hot especially at night.

PinkHonda Mon 18-Jun-18 16:06:41

I love the warmth of the sun and being able to open the windows. I love paddling in the sea in the Highlands of Scotland. I love being able to go for a walk and listen to my audiobooks, without layers and layers of clothing. I love having an excuse for an ice lolly or slush puppy. I love wearing sandals and being able to see my painted toenails in a cheery pink or some other jolly colour.

I hate the midgies and other beasties about. I dislike the night time heat which stops me sleeping well.

Mopsx4 Mon 18-Jun-18 16:01:44

I love the hot action packed days with my grandson who I mind in the holidays.
Least favourite thing is that summer has to end and it’s back to wrapping up to keep warm.

Coppernob Mon 18-Jun-18 15:51:40

Best thing - my granddaughters playing happily in the paddling pool.

Worst thing - all the little buzzy things that seem to delight in biting me.

tiggers Mon 18-Jun-18 15:48:53

My favourite thing = long sunny days
My least favourite thing = being bitten by various insects!

pixie601 Mon 18-Jun-18 15:41:39

I love the sunny days - we don't get that many!
I hate midges so am glad when there is a strong breeze blowing.

Sallyann51 Mon 18-Jun-18 15:41:32

I love the warmth and not having to wrap up in coat, scarves, hat and gloves.

The worst is wasps and mosquitos.

mumu54 Mon 18-Jun-18 15:39:54

The best thing about summer has to be the lovely light mornings, being able to lay in bed and see blue sky before I attempt to get various body bits moving is so uplifting. The least favourite aspect (for me) is the temperature rising above 20 degrees C. Makes me ill and miserable.

Jillyblom59 Mon 18-Jun-18 15:31:26

I love being able to wear linen clothes, the long daylight hours, sun on my face, and the taste of fresh, local strawberries,
I hate the flies, wasps and mosquitoes

rocketstop Mon 18-Jun-18 15:24:54

Summer not SummAR !!

rocketstop Mon 18-Jun-18 15:24:25

Best thing:Hearing the earth 'Sing' on a warm summar evening when the sun has been shining all day.
Worst thing:Knowing soon it will end and we have to start the dreaded Christmas shopping !

Blacktabby2 Mon 18-Jun-18 15:21:10

I love summer but not my freckles!! To have a new library of books would be wonderful. I also hate hayfever...no product seems to work!

Sararose Mon 18-Jun-18 15:21:04

My favourite thing about summer is wearing shorts and sandals and not having to carry a coat with me.
My least favourite thing is waking up so early in the morning because it is so light (even with blackout curtains)!

Coco51 Mon 18-Jun-18 15:17:09

Favourite: beach days playing in the sand and paddling with grandchildren

Least favourite: when it feels if you’ve returned home with half of the beach in clothes...shoes....hair!

suewrightx Mon 18-Jun-18 15:16:44

The worse thing about summer is the ants but the best is the lovely light warm summer evenings.

Nendels Mon 18-Jun-18 15:11:23

Sadly I do not like hot humid weather for health reasons. But I love being outside with the family - in the garden or on the beach or even just walking in the countryside and stopping for a refreshing drink in a pub garden or eating outdoors. I also love to see plants growing and blossoming and heading towards harvest
