hate the intense heat that makes it hard to do anything or even sleep. like seeing the happy animals going about their lives.

Tryfan12 Mon 18-Jun-18 11:34:13

My favourite thing is being out in the garden and seeing the wildlife around us. The worst thing is the midges, nothing seems to stop them from biting me.

GrannyR19 Mon 18-Jun-18 11:33:43

My favourite thing is having picnics with the grandchildren on the beach.
What I dislike about summer , as I live in Scotland, is the midgies.

Hulajune Mon 18-Jun-18 11:18:27

Long, lazy evenings in the garden with family and friends.

Keeping on top of the weeds!

elainehale Mon 18-Jun-18 11:14:12

Playing with the water table in the garden, and feigning surprise and horror when getting soaked by the grandchildren?

lollee Mon 18-Jun-18 11:13:52

Longer days to get things done in my lovely garden, debilitating heat that stops me doing so!

annodomini Mon 18-Jun-18 11:10:39

Favourite thing: the dawn chorus - even at 4am. After months of silence, it's cheering when the songbirds find their voices again.
Least favourite: pollen allergies! At worst they make me feel as if I have flu and give me a wicked headache!

annierich Mon 18-Jun-18 11:05:31

I love the seasonal produce available in the summer - which actually tastes of something. I know you can buy strawberries etc all year round, but I much prefer home grown, great tasting fruit and salad. I hate hay fever. Enough said!

belo Mon 18-Jun-18 11:05:06

The best thing about summer is not having to wear tights! I love the fact that it's so quick to get dressed. The worst thing is the hayfever. But, easy solved with some anti-histamines!

lindarumsey Mon 18-Jun-18 11:04:34

Favourite - washing drying on the line. Worst - too hot to sleep!

AngelaMCGF Mon 18-Jun-18 11:01:26

My favourite thing to do when summer arrives is to head down to Cornwall to my caravan, spend day after day just pottering around with the dogs, its always a coat warmer in Cornwall than up in Yorkshire, it really is a magical county. Then ironically the worse thing is, it getting too hot for the dogs and the three of us having to stay in the shade of the caravan till the sun cools down, but its worth it!

Shinyredcar Mon 18-Jun-18 10:59:31

I love being warm but most of all the light in summer makes me feel great. All that sunshine and long days! My least favourite thing is being bitten by the insects who seem to send out an all-points-alert when I appear outside.

ranorman45 Mon 18-Jun-18 10:59:26

My favorite thing is not having to watch the clock constantly, the children are at home so if it's a sunny day we can truly make the most of it and stay outside all day if we want to and holiday time is approaching!
The worst thing is realising that the nights are starting to close in and long bright days will soon be getting shorter!

grandMattie Mon 18-Jun-18 10:55:22

Most favorite - long evenings, though I miss the velvet dark nights of my tropical childnood.
Least favorite - mosquitos.

floorflock Mon 18-Jun-18 10:50:44

I love the warmth of the sun on my skin - when it deigns to appear but hate the nights as I find it hard to sleep when it is so light, just waking up for a wee makes me think it is time to get up and I don't sleep well at the best of times.

LauraMeredith Mon 18-Jun-18 10:47:45

Best is swimming.....in the sea or pool.

Worst is.......having to get out (of sea or pool)!

Gypsyqueen13 Mon 18-Jun-18 10:44:51

For me the favourite bit about summer is longer days which seem to boost my energy levels. My least favourite is having to work inside when I am desperate to spend time reading in the warmth of the summer sun!

saurus Mon 18-Jun-18 10:37:36

Best thing is time spent in the fresh air, just simple things like a glass of wine in the garden, sunny dog walks and feeling the sun on your face. Worst thing is having to work in a poorly ventilated office on hot days.

Nanny41 Mon 18-Jun-18 10:32:51

Best in Summer being able to go outside without having to put loads of clothes on, just go out.
Least favourite when there are crowds everywhere, waiting for transport etc.and ice cream queues!

helenrj Mon 18-Jun-18 10:29:54

Sitting in the garden with a drink and a good book, and the worst birds dive bombing on my washing drying on the line

AllTheLs Mon 18-Jun-18 10:18:06

Being a chilly mortal, I love the heat of the sun, but I don't like going to bed when it's still light outside.

Evie49 Mon 18-Jun-18 10:11:21

The most blissful aspect of summer to me is the warmth of the days, the long nights, and the pleasure of spending time with my family with all of us feeling relaxed and happy - look how many smiling faces you see when the sun shines and its ice cream weather - what is there not to like about enjoying an ice cream with your family amongst the cheerful blaze of summer flowers and the happy chit chatter of the birds.
The worst aspect of summer is the when the nights are so humid it is difficult to sleep despite turning, tossing the covers off, pulling them on again, feeling even more grumpy as my cotton pyjamas moisten with sticky sweat - falling asleep eventually stiff and miserable - and waking up feeling pretty similar until I've enjoyed a refreshing shower.
Bring on the summer!

Rachand Mon 18-Jun-18 10:08:21

Worse is hayfever, seeing loved ones suffering, especially this year
Best, is the long days of light, makes such a difference (and makes reading books in the garden so nice!)

Thanos for your super comp, some great reads

Georgia491 Mon 18-Jun-18 10:07:08

The best thing is that it’s light for so many hours, lovely for just wandering around or sitting in the garden. The worst thing is too many wasps, who can sense my fear,

blueberry1 Mon 18-Jun-18 10:06:51

The best thing is watching the barges chugging along the canal and seeing the kingfishers swooping down with a flash of beautiful colour.
The worst is the heat!
