My favourite thing about summer is when the sun is shining and eating ice creams.

The worst thing is when it rains and it's colder.

We are lucky enough to live fairly close to a beautiful blue flag beach with a flat embankment and we often walk as briskly as possible for half an hour.
I have a fairly serious lung problem and am not allowed antihistamine so pollen is a real problem in this lovely weather.

The best - sitting in tbe garden, eyes closed, birds singing, feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin
The worst- knowing it will only last for a short time and the dreaded winter will soon return

daw1965 Thu 14-Jun-18 00:21:12

My favourite thing is being able to go to outdoor gigs and festivals. My least favourite is hayfever!

The best thing is just getting out and about without loading yourself up with coats and brollies "just in case".

The worst - sun cream. Having to slather it onto little wriggling grandsons, and it making your eyes sting.

Favourite thing: sunny days in pub gardens in the countryside with family and friends
Least favourite thing: Hot sticky nights where it is so difficult to get comfortable and sleep well

My favourite thing about summer is the swallows arrival and the pipistrelle bats in my roof.

The worst thing about summer is that it doesn't last long enough.

freefan Wed 13-Jun-18 22:45:24

My favourite part of summer is spending so much time with my Grandson and children on days out and picnic, the worst is all the annoying midges that like to feast on me.

sweir1 Wed 13-Jun-18 22:41:48

Favourite thing - night time walks; least favourite- no snow!

jeanio Wed 13-Jun-18 22:40:30

Best thing walking along the beach with the sun on my face and seeing the children playing in the sand.
Worst not being able to sleep when it's too hot at night.

Happiyogi Wed 13-Jun-18 22:32:00

My favourite thing about summer is the side effect of being outside to get my Vitamin D! I feel - and look - so much better with a light tan. Happy days. sunshine

Humidity is not my friend, however. I hate the damp, energy sapping stickiness.

sophiscon7 Wed 13-Jun-18 22:27:03

The sound of children squealing with laughter as they jump in and out of sprinklers.
The endless slathering of sun cream.

I love the warm sun shinnig from a clear blue sky, the beautiful british countryside with its cool woodlands and open meadows. Hedgerows alive with songbirds and be jewelled with wild fowers. Gardens with striped emerald lawns and sweetly perfumed colourful boarders.
I dislike miserable grey rainy days!

stefalfie11 Wed 13-Jun-18 21:13:29

Favourite thing has to be the longer lighter warmer evenings and least favourite thing is hayfever!

Valski Wed 13-Jun-18 21:12:39

First off my ultimate favourite thing is walking down the high street with the sun shining and everyone smiling, jovial and good humoured.

Least is how tired the heat makes me and having to shut the windows because my inconsiderate neighbours shut their dogs out and let them bark endlessly! So selfish..

LaMaupin Wed 13-Jun-18 21:06:58

My favourite thing about summer is reading outside in the shade. My least favourite thing is getting sunburn!!

Eloethan Wed 13-Jun-18 20:58:36

That perfect summer afternoon - blue skies, hot sun, the scent of thyme and lavender hanging in the air. A comfortable chair in a shady spot, a glass of ice cold sparkling water and an unputdownable book.

But then - a sudden brief stillness, darkening sky, distant rumbles, coming closer. A rush to unpeg washing. Big drops of cold rain splashing onto warm skin. Lazy afternoon rudely interrupted.
