My favourite thing about summer is getting up early in the morning and taking my dog Rupert for a long walk in the local wood.
My least favourite thing is when the nights are hot and humid and it is difficult to sleep.

I love having my children home for the holidays and enjoying the company of their little nieces and nephews as the older kids come for visits. What I hate is horseflies. They're everywhere, especially when we're trying to enjoy the pool!

Spending quality time with the family whilst the children are off school is the best thing about summer. The Worst thing is when the school holidays end and they go back. I miss them terribly

The freedom of just upping and going somewhere, making use of our National Trust membership

The constant cutting of the lawn and the hedges (oh yeah and not having to do the grandparent thing of school runs and grandkid sitting, it takes away the organisation of life)

My favourite thing about summer is getting out more in the evenings and all the events going on. My least favourite thing is how busy the traffic gets during the school holidays

The best thing is that everyone is always in a good mood, and there are always lots of events. The worst thing is hayfever!

My favourite thing about summer is when the schools finally break up (I work in one) and I finally have some time for me. I'll sit in the garden or take a walk around local lakes and broads and watch out for the most beautifully vivid blues and reds of the dragonflies as they skim across the water and dart across the skies. A quintessential part of being British.
I dislike not being able to sleep through the heat this year - it's disturbing next door's baby, too, so he cries throughout the night (and his parents tend to let him) - but it does mean that I can then do my next favourite thing, which is catch up on all the reading I haven't found time for during the school year...

Best: Sunshine at last!

My favourite thing is long lazy days at the beach and my least favourite thing is sticky restless nights where I can’t sleep.

Favourite thing is the lovely warm weather meaning we can spend more time outside in the garden, eating outside AND I can get big things like pillows and duvets washed and dried - and I can't think of any worst thing!

Best thing about summer is having a family holiday, the worst thing is still having to go to work while my children are off school

Favourite - lots! Eating al fresco, mocktails while reading outside, light mornings and endless nights, simpler clothes, strawberries and cream, drying washing quicker and outside, beer gardens, going down the beach, I could go on!
