Roald Dahl is a genius author who masters characterisation. There are so many to choose from but today I'm going to say
Matilda because she is a cool cookie.

pegros Sun 16-Sept-18 14:18:43

Matilda for her resourcefulness

Ruskin Sun 16-Sept-18 14:18:37

Has to be Grandpa Joe from Charlie & The Chocolate Factory - he had an invincible spirit & made sure Charlie never gave up on his dreams

The Girl with the Magic Finger: my daughters - and now my twin granddaughters - have found this the easily accessible (one sitting read!) captivating entry level to the wonderful world of Ronald Dahl! The story itself gave them pause to think about the feelings of animals (as well as their fellow humans). Salutary, but immense fun!

My Favourite character is Matilda I absolutely love her

purplevamp Sun 16-Sept-18 14:07:56

My favourite Roald Dahl character is Charlie Bucket. Who wouldn't want a whole factory of chocolate and sweets all to themselves? grin

Kate63 Sun 16-Sept-18 12:38:06

Matilda is my favourite. She is so funny, clever and adventurous. The important thing is that after awful parents she was adopted by her teacher, Jennifer Honey. Happy ending.

Maggiemaybe Sun 16-Sept-18 10:14:28

Charlie Bucket, the dream grandson! Modest, brave, kind, caring, honest and fair.

But Verucca Salt’s the one that makes me laugh.

Countryfan Sun 16-Sept-18 09:35:27

Mr Fox from The Fantastic Mr Fox is my favourite as he is so clever and wily.

The BFG was my sons favourite book and Dvd when he was smaller. I have lost count the number of times we have watched and read the book. The BFG is so funny. Now my son has a child of his own. No doubt the BFG will become an all time favourite in their home bringing back lots of happy memories.
