George from George's Marvellous Medicine.
My Mum used to get cross when I made potions in the bathroom from all the products there.

Matilda, she made her own way despite a bad start

HGrout Mon 24-Sept-18 13:40:45

James from James & the Giant Peach. As a child i just wanted to find a giant peach and tunnel through it.

Catherinebullas Mon 24-Sept-18 14:08:32

Danny from Danny the champion of the world. He clearly adores his dad even with his flaws and looks up to him.

My daughter loved the BFG and we really enjoyed the recent film

PeanutHog Mon 24-Sept-18 14:49:28

Matilda - she is such a bright, happy and sweet girl who has awful uncaring parents. Her life turns around like she deserves once she meets lovely Miss Honey. I love all the tricks she plays on Mrs Trunchball too - makes me laugh every time I read the book or watch the film!

Matilda my girls love, they wish she was there sister lol

daisybeebee Mon 24-Sept-18 15:17:30

Matilda, she's feisty, funny, determined and loves to read. She has always reminded me of my daughter when she was a little girl, even down to the hairstyle.

Willie Sonia and the Chocolate Factory,a delightful story, but with a hidden agenda behind it.

Charlie from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, he comes from a very humble background and shows how polite and thoughtful he can be. Politeness cost nothing.

rainbowbutterfly Mon 24-Sept-18 17:55:14

Charlie from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. What a fabulous story of a boy who was timid, not pushy and totally honest and who won the prize.

cathyov Mon 24-Sept-18 18:03:02

I love the BFG; a huge gentle giant who gets rather muddled and is funny (and a bit rude!) and particularly love the way he makes up words.

Mouse25 Mon 24-Sept-18 18:21:53

The BFG and willy Wonka.

Carolann99 Mon 24-Sept-18 19:21:57

Matilda, always makes me laugh

ruralhelen Mon 24-Sept-18 20:05:23

Willy Wonka as he is so good with children and he has lots of CHOCOLATE!!!

ptak5566 Mon 24-Sept-18 20:22:13

Has to be BFG ... don't judge a book by it's cover!! Although quite scary looking, is a lovable, caring character.

portkey Mon 24-Sept-18 20:52:46

My favourite character is Charlie from the Chocolate factory because he's so lovely and it's one of my favourite stories.

gill81uk Mon 24-Sept-18 21:10:22

I love Matilda. I think it's great having a strong female main character who encourages children to enjoy reading.
