I think the BFG is a wonderful character to have invented: huge, kind, fearful, rude, loving, muddle-headed. I particularly like the way he speaks, muddling up his words, inventing new words, and talking with a strange grammar.

Matilda because she is a bookworm like me

BFG ! Because He's lovely,fun and gentle . Like my dad looks after my children sometimes. He protects them like he protects the little girl Sofie. The best grandad in the world!

Charlie and the chocolate factory as it gives children hope

Our very favourite is Matilda as we have a little granddaughter named after her. It was our daughter's (Matilda's mummy) favourite book when she was small - in fact it still is. She's a huge Roald Dahl fan, and has passed that love on to her children.

I love willy wonka as he's a little crazy but has a fantastic chocolate factory and does a nice thing and offering it to Charlie in the end

Mine is Charlie from charlie and the chocolate factory wonderful story.

Miss Trunchbull, she's the type of battleaxe we all knew as a kid. My old head-teacher for example! A great character and a favourite of my GC's!

The pig from Dirty Beasts, I really like the way the character solves problems in a funny, quirky, horrible way and the fact it has think about "what life was really about" A lovely character created by a genius, my children and grandchildren love this poem.
