Mr Twit, such a naughty character, but always amuses smile

Neilspurgeon0 Mon 17-Sept-18 07:11:42

It really does have to be the BFG because of his wonderful spoonerisms don’t it ?

Bevinju Mon 17-Sept-18 07:09:55

My favourite book is BFG as he really is a Big Friendly Giant and makes friends with Sophie

Sandrajoy Mon 17-Sept-18 06:22:25

Charlie from Charlie and the chocolate factory, because I love entering competitions and in a way thats what this story is about

Jensonandeverly18 Mon 17-Sept-18 00:31:39

The BFG. My children’s dad is 6ft 8 and we are always calling him the bfg smile

Willy Wonka from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It is magical and clever how Willy Wonka taps into the 5 children's dreams, exposes their faults and highlights why Charlie becomes the winner. Children learn through this tale how good overcomes evil.

My favourite character would have to be Willy Wonka - who wouldn’t love him?

Hellsbelles Sun 16-Sept-18 21:03:45

Oops BFG.

Hellsbelles Sun 16-Sept-18 21:03:25

I'm another for The BFG. It's a case of don't judge a book by its cover (!) meaning something big, fairly ugly, often smelly and mixed up can really turn out to be a great friend that has your back and can help out when needed most. Who doesn't need a BIG in their life !

Juggernaut Sun 16-Sept-18 20:46:41

The BFG!
He speaks the most wonderful language for children!

Matilda

Mr Twit. Thirty-something years ago when my kids were reading it, they thought that their bearded daddy was Mr Twit and used to search his beard for sardines (!) etc. Fortunately they never found any. And now my lovely granchildren know the book, know that their daddy/mummy/uncle/aunt used to search grandad's beard, and are doing it themselves!

The girl with the magic finger!

Chocolatenoodle8 Sun 16-Sept-18 19:50:27

The Big Friendly Giant is my favourite Ronald Dahl character because he shows readers that being kind and gentle is good. Ronald Dahl’s kindest character!

dirgni Sun 16-Sept-18 19:31:52

I think the BFG is wonderful. It’s great having a story about a kind, friendly giant and I just love all the made up words especially the rude ones!

Lindajoy Sun 16-Sept-18 19:29:25

Matilda Wormwood for being so feisty and for putting her powers to good use.

Wendy Sun 16-Sept-18 19:15:32

Buckie Sun 16-Sept-18 18:50:20

My grandsons love having stories read to them,,at anytime don’t just have to be bedtime.
They love Charlie from Charlie and the chocolate factory, I think they like him so much as he likes trying to help his family and. the boys are liking to help their mummy now she has had their new baby sister

Paul2706 Sun 16-Sept-18 18:37:32

Willy Wonka he seemed very eccentric but his method of finding Charlie to take over his factory was simply ingenious and like something straight from MI5 lol

Immiesnana Sun 16-Sept-18 18:33:15

The BFG because he has the most wonderful language for children.

Kittyme1 Sun 16-Sept-18 17:42:42

It has to be Willy Wonka, just loved watching the film repeats with Gene Wilder playing the character of Willy Wonka.

rizlett Sun 16-Sept-18 17:42:08

I'd like to be Trunky the elephant who whizzed The Enormous Crocodile round so fast he bypassed the moon and was incinerated by the Sun. (life is like that sometimes)

And Trunky sounds more neat than Humpy Rumpy the Hippo. grin
