I was fortunate to grow up in North East Scotland on a farm with the River Deveron running past the house. I was taught to fly fish at a young age so taking myself off, usually early in the morning to go trout fishing was something I loved to do. There was huge old fire/school bell attached to the garage of the house and when my mother wanted me to come home she rang the bell three times, to warn me I was wanted then two lots of three rings to say, come home now! Proudly taking home for mum to cook for breakfast, lunch or whatever any trout I'd been lucky enough to catch. Freedom, confidence and responsibility were the three things I learnt from this time. So lucky, wonderful memories!
