If you're after ideas for what to read this summer, look no further than our round-up of the best summer reads for 2019.

One very lucky person can win all the books featured on the page - worth over £600.

To enter, simply tell us your favourite female character from a book (old or new and from any genre).

A winner will be drawn at random at midday on Monday 15 July. Usual terms and conditions apply. Note that because of the size and weight of the prize box, we are only able to deliver to mainland UK addresses.

I quite like Lisbeth Salander in the Girl with the dragon tattoo books for her tenacity and courage. I also like, in contrast, Precious Ramotswe in the No 1 Detective Agency books, set in Botswana.
