My 50s childhood was traumatic so games allowed me to get away from home for a while. We children built dens in the woods at the top of the road, using milk crates as tables, flowers fron the woods in jars on the table and little logs as seats. Took dolls or teddies and made beds out of leaves and old net curtains put on the bushes, spending hours there playing houses. Never had a bike but my friend had roller skates so we each had one and hurtled down the hill in her road. Luckily little traffic in those days.
Sad and difficult times to remember but these games made me happy, if only fir a while.
I'm Sure It's a Repeat of the Summer of 1976
My dad spent 40 years mastering his craft, and last week someone half his age told him how to eat.😠
