I loved tag, cats cradle, skipping & going out on my bike. We were always out on our bikes riding around the block or cycling up to the woods or to the park.

My favourite activity was roller skating with my little sister on those strange adjustable roller skates that fitted over your shoes. They had no stoppers on them so when going down hill we use to aim for the lampposts to stop us.

Not something I'd want my grandchildren to do, but my favourite game as a child involved picking up all the broken green and brown glass outside the local pub every Saturday and Sunday morning! Then I used the glass in my art projects, I don't remember ever getting cut...

Making the best go-cart in our street using the wheels from my youngest sisters coach pram, it was so fast it nearly took off!

My siblings and I used to disappear to the local play park for hours at a time - I loved it. As well as the swings, slide, roundabout etc there were lots of wild areas where we made dens, and a huge lake where we paddled and fed the ducks. But we knew we were in trouble if we forgot to get home in time for tea, and Dad had to come to the park to find us!

I was never an adventurous child, I preferred to play in the house, or read. I remember going on a friends 2 wheeler bike and taking it round the entry from our street, needless to say I fell off and went home crying with scraped legs and a hurt pride!!

Draughts: played it for hours with my grandpa. Suspect he let me win but I never realised at the time!

I used to love playing ‘2 ball’ against the wall of the outside toilets at school. We also used to do handstands, that wouldn’t be allowed today.

I used to collect little red seeds from a tree with my sister. We took them home and used my mum's scrap material to make a little triangular bag and filled them with the seeds. We made five bags and then played five stones.
We loved playing that game. Recently, I made them again to show my grandchildren what game I used to play.

I used to like playing in the street with all of the other children who lived there.
My favourite was when we played rounders with a stick for the bat and the suitably placed trees (it was an avenue with trees on both sides) and a tennis ball.
Not many cars around then

I used to love popping tar bubbles with icelolly sticks when it was a really hot day. We got covered in the stuff and drove my mother mad but found it impossible to resist !

Dominos with my lovely granddad, barely old enough to count the spots but knew when I was losing and used to hide the dominoes under the rug. I called him grandad pan drop for obvious reasons....fond memories.

Winter - pouring water onto the school playground overnight to form an amazing slide the next morning. I think health and safety would ban it now.

Hop scotch x outside my childhood home on the pavement we spent hours and hours playing hopscotch. Who had the flattest and smoothest stone to glide across each numbered square ? Hours and hours. We loved it.
