It's that time of year again...

If you are stuck for gift ideas for family/friends, look no further than our round-up of the best books for Christmas. From psychological thrillers to women's fiction, autobiographies to cookbooks (and everything in between), there really is something for everyone.

And, as ever, we are giving one lucky person the chance to win everything featured on the page...worth over £800. All you have to do is tell us, on this thread, who you'd most like to find under your tree this Christmas (and why).

We will be drawing a winner at random at midday on Monday 16 December. Terms and conditions apply - more details on the page.

My grandfather. He disappeared in 1930 never to be heard from again, although there were a couple of sightings reported in the 1940's. I'd love to solve the mystery and find out where he was and what he was doing for all those years.

creativz Thu 28-Nov-19 10:38:46

I have estranged family in US, not seen my brother for over 20 years and never met his 3 children who are now in their late teens, it would be good to change that and close the gap so to speak, seeing their faces would be a very welcome surprise. Failing that, I think the humour of French & Saunders could be a good kickstart to the day ! ☃️

I’d like to see all my ancestors from the last 200 years under the tree, what a party we would have and how exciting to get to know one another.
